There are problems on Rainbow Apples for being either be the most useless Rainbow Lucky Block item or the most OP item that makes you immortal (from damages, you can die from a void).

Rainbow apples gives players a random effect, which the given effects are not that great and does not restore hunger at all. And it does not stack, which makes it annoying to eat it all.

But there is one effect in the apples makes the player not take damage which is the Instant Health effect. It was discovered by me from a month ago when I can't kill a player who ate it and I found this out today with Flarial Client.

Please look at the top left of the video and you will see the effects there. And also the health bar not losing hearts.

I am not sure if the Instant Health was supposed to be a bug or intentional for the immortal thing, so I made it as a feedback.

So here are my thoughts how to rebalance it:

  • Make the apples stackable in about 16 or 8 apple per stack and its only limited to 16 or 8 apples per player so the others can have it. OR give all of the apples to the player who broke it the rainbow lucky block first.
  • All of the effects must be fairly good.
  • Restore at least the same hunger points as bread or a normal apple.
  • Remove the Instant Health effect for making players immortal

I also think that rainbow apples need a rebalance, what I proposed in one of my threads is to put a time limit on the effect that the apples give so as not to have people with immortality for 35 seconds, but to me the instant health effect doesn't seem "bad/unbalanced", keep in mind that you can get a sword that kills in one hit with the rainbow lucky block, having something that makes you immortal for a short period of time doesn't seem bad to me, and on top of that the effect doesn't come out when you want it to.

Regarding the ideas you have mentioned:

-I don't think that's the solution, if they could be stacked even if only 8 per player it would be quite op, the biggest drawback of apples is that they take up a lot of space in the inventory and that you can't choose the effect that will come out which is a very good way to balance this item

-This would make it more op, and I think the beauty of the item is that you can get useless effects like water breathing or sometimes other op effects like instant life or strength, One of the best things about Lucky Islands is its randomness, and I think that should be preserved.

-This one seems fine to me

-As I mentioned earlier, I think putting a time limit on the effect is a better solution.
