As the others that have replied to the thread have said, there is a new punishment system in the works. The current punishment system only allows a minimum of 1 month punishments which is too harsh for an offense such as teaming. With the new system, we will be able to issue punishments in increments lower than a month.
Now for the video...
First off, in the thread (
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/teaming-in-skywars-solo.131729/) that was used as an example, the game in question was actually Lucky Islands. Not Skywars. Yes, you are allowed to team in Solo Skywars, for now. Though, once the new punishment system is here, I feel that it will be changed to where you can't team at all in any solo gamemode. Also, if I remember correctly, it's punishable to team in Solo Luck Islands. (Though, I may be wrong)
Secondly, it's mentioned that teaming in a solo gamemode is punishable on other large networks. I'll just say that we are not those networks. Meaning we do things how we think they should be done and get help from the community to shape the server and make it the best it can be, while also making sure it has some unique aspects that keep players coming back.
Thirdly, the official rules thread (
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/official-rules.41864/) is kinda old. Granted the post was from last year but the server has changed so much since then. So, not many of the games would have had a "solo" gamemode. I think the only one (besides SG) that had a solo gamemode at the time of the rules post was skywars and for the longest time, teaming has been allowed in solo. As mentioned before, the way the system is now, that punishments are only able to be given with a minimum of 1 month. So, that would be a bit harsh on such a small offense such as teaming. The new system will change the way things are done, when it comes to punishments.
Lastly, for the ones who will keep teaming in solo gamemodes (yes, there will be those people that do it for fun, even if they know they will get punished for it), they will just have to learn the hard way to not team in a solo gamemode after being told that it's punishable.
