In the recent months, Cubecraft has doing nice QOL changes regarding disabling certain features If the players don’t want them. One feature that is noticeable, but cannot be disabled at all are the custom kill messages. This means that when people purchase something so that they get those kill messages, they cannot disable these at all. Personally, I’m against servers forcing people to get something when they purchase something, even more if the purchase was done with real money.
So my suggestion is: make those kill messages be able to disabled as well. The custom egg break messages in Eggwars can be disabled just fine, so why not the custom kill messages as well?
besides my personal reason, I hear most people talk about the following two reasons:
1. Custom kill messages increase targeting
People who have custom kill messages are guaranteed to have a rank. So in the games I play, people who have custom kill messages are likely to be targeted more by fellow players.
2. Disliking the messages in general.
A lot of the custom kill messages reference old meme material. There is something like ‘... This is Sparta…‘. This is an really old meme from like 2009. There is also something like ‘OWO’d to death‘, which I personally dislike a lot.
This shouldn’t be hard to implement and people who like the kill messages can keep using them, I only want them be able to be disabled for the people who don’t want them.
