Hello, and thank you for submitting your map, titled "Badlands", to our forums. Before I begin my review, I would like to emphasise that positive reception from the community does not guarantee that your map will be accepted onto the server.
I shall start with the positives: the palette is magnificent. I especially love the boldness of the river, it truly does stand out as a remarkable landmark amongst dusty, urban terrain.
I also love the sand region. It implies something more, something... beyond. This sort of immersion is often reserved for the most quality art - think Star Wars, or Star Trek, or Doctor Who. It implies a small part of a very big world, and that is something anybody with half a mind should admire.
The hilly terrain is certainly unique - finally, a map where Archer players will thrive. Yet there is also smooth terrain, conveniently placed atop the hills, adding a forced demand to regions where Archer kits are best adapted. This sort of artificial kit balance has otherwise only been met in Classic, our oldest map. For over half a decade now, we have sought to recreate that balance between large open areas, and high-traffic uphill areas where all kits can enjoy themselves.
Finally, the name is perfect: Badlands. Your map has a guaranteed audience on release, for the FFA community is widely renowned for its edgy playerbase - and what edgy Minecraft player is going to pass up a map with such an awesome name?
I would list some negatives here too, for the sake of objectivity and whatnot, but honestly? I have nothing to criticise. You've clearly put your heart and soul into this map, fine-tuning it to perfection. I can tell you are deeply passionate about FFA, and whilst I probably shouldn't say this, I would be very shocked if CCG did not add your map by the week's end.
Thank you so much for sharing your map with us - it truly is an honour.
