Hello everyone!
While building today, me and @Pandaa got a fun little idea. We will host a building competition. You can find all information below!

How it works:
Before starting, I just want to say that this is just a fun thing. There is no major prize.
  • To participate in this competition, please comment on this thread. If you don't want to enter, but still want to comment on this thread, please add something along the lines of "I don't want to participate" in ALL your posts here.
  • In a few days (possibly at the creative release), either me or @Pandaa will make an opening thread. From then, you will have 48 hours to submit your build.
  • Once we make the thread, we will also release a theme.
  • You will get two hours to build. The time starts when you first start building. Breaks will be counted in the time.
  • When you have finished, you upload a few screenshots (and a video, if you want) in the opening thread.
  • 48 hours after the competition was opened, we will close it and judge the builds. The judges are me and @Pandaa. Once we have our 2-4 favorites, we will make a strawpoll for everyone to vote.
The rules:
To make it as fair, and fun, as possible, we have a couple of rules that you need to follow.
  1. Please don't build anything inappropriate. Explains itself.
  2. Please build in two hours or less.
  3. You are allowed to enter alone or in a team of up to two players. If building in a team, the limit it only 1 hour.
  4. Please stay on theme. The theme will be revealed when the competition starts.
  5. Please stay friendly at all times, even if you dislike a build.
  6. If possible, recording the building process (and speeding it up) and uploading along with your screenshots would be fun. This is entirely optional.
  7. Please respect the judges. Do not hate us because we don't pick your build for the finals.
  8. Worldedit and Voxelsniper are allowed.
  9. You can submit up to 2 different builds, if you want.
  10. Please be honest. We have no way to make sure your build didn't take too long, but we trust you.
  11. Please build everything in a flat world. You can pick the ground block yourself, but grass is highly recommended.
The prize:
For this competition, we only have a small prize. It is to pick the theme of an upcoming map built by us (me and @Pandaa ). This is mostly a fun thing, so a bigger prize is not needed ;)

How we judge the builds:
When judging the builds, we look at shape, depth, detail, block palette, terraforming (if you built any), how well it goes with the theme and how good it looks over all.

I think that is it. I look forward to seeing a lot of good builds!
Me and @Pandaa will also build one thing each, but we will be out of competition.

Maybe a bit of a dumb question, but do chat prefixes exist on Cubecraft Java like they do on Bedrock?
