This is my first post on the CubeCraft forums, so if there are any mistakes in this post, feel free to tell me in the comments section below.
In this post, I would discuss about my Tower Defence Strategy and the pros and cons of Blazes and Giants.
To start off, I would like to talk about my strategy in Tower Defence. My strategy is a bit different from others' and co-operation does not really matter much to this strategy. Firstly, build a few Artillery Towers near the spawning area of the enemy monsters to get coins faster (optional), then spam zombies and get EXP to upgrade gold mine and continue spamming zombies until the gold mine reaches 25 gold/coins per second (1500 EXP to unlock). Then, continue on zombie spamming to get EXP and unlock the Blaze in the Summoner's GUI and also unlock both speed and regeneration AOE potions in the Castle Bazaar. When you finished unlocking the above mentioned items/mobs, it is pretty much 5 minutes before the Armageddon mode. In normal cases, you will have over 10,000 coins now. While waiting for Armageddon mode, you can do nothing and wait for coins or help your teammates building defensive towers (or go melee enemy mobs). When it is 1 minute before Armageddon mode, you can start buying speed potions (it is better to buy more like 6 or 7 so you do not need to bother buying it from the Castle Bazaar while the Blazes attack). The exciting moment is when there is only 30 seconds before Armageddon mode. At this time, you should send 12 Blazes. As in most cases, your enemies have lots of Archer Towers, so you need to throw speed potions to help the Blazes to get through the enemy Archer Towers. When the Blazes reached the enemy castle (mostly 10 to 12 Blazes can arrive), you can start throwing regeneration potions to the Blazes and keep them alive so they can do more damage to the enemy castle. This strategy is quite overpowered and has about 95% chance of winning. Remember, the best defence is to attack.
The second thing I am going to talk about is the pros and cons of the Blaze and the Giant.
The Blaze is a flying monster that is invulnerable to many towers such as the Necromancer Tower, the Artillery Tower, the Mage tower, the Poison tower, the Sorcerer Tower etc. Even though they are not that fast, with a speed AOE potion, they could be very fast and go through enemy Archer Towers quickly without suffering from too much damage. Blazes does not do that much damage but if you send a full wave (12) of them you can deal a lot of damage to the enemy castle. Blazes are very strong, however, they have a few weaknesses. As mentioned above, sending a full wave of Blazes can maximize the damage dealt to the enemy castle, but sending a full wave of blazes costs 9600 coins which is quite expensive, also, speed potions and regeneration potions costs a lot of coins. There is also a weakness that causes Blazes to die so quick, before reaching the enemy castle, it is about when Artillery Towers attack ground troops, the explosions also damage the flying entities. If you are unlucky that your teammates send ground troops while you send blazes, your blazes will be taken down so quickly by the Artillery Towers.
The Giant is a monster with the greatest amount of health and it deals the greatest amount of damage to the enemy castle, however, it has a lot of weaknesses. Firstly, the Giant is not invulnerable to towers like the Artillery Tower, the Necromancer Tower and the Turret Tower. These towers deal great damage to the Giant. The Giant is also a slow moving mob, even you use a speed AOE potion, it still moves so slowly. With a freezing AOE potion, the Giant is barely moving. A slow moving speed is the key weakness of the Giant. With a lot of towers attacking, AOE potions slowing it down/damaging it and the sword attack of players, it is not difficult to kill the Giant before it reaches the castle, but if you DID MANAGE to send a Giant and make it arrive the enemy castle with enough health, the enemy team is pretty much going to lose.
In conclusion, there are both pros and cons for the Blaze and the Giant, players should choose wisely according to the situation. For me, I prefer the 12 Blaze rush instead of Giants.
Also, please vote in the poll and let me know what do you prefer sending in Armageddon mode.
