Hello all,

I usually never post, but rather lurk around the systems on the network making sure stuff works, but for once I am posting something, this will be fairly technical, and I won't explain it, if you know what I am talking about, then reply, if you do not, then theres no need for you to post, or cause confusion. (Google it!) :)

I'd like to reach out to users in various countries, mainly in the eastern or western hemisphere (Asia/Australia & North/South America) to do some network testing, and see where the main points of latency to our network are, so I can work with our providers to improve this as much as I can.

To do so, if you wish to help me with this, simply reply to this thread with a copy (can be pasted in the thread, but preferably on a pastebin-like website) of a trace-route from your location to our main servers ( play.cubecraft.net ), if you're even more technical then that, an MTR report with at least 10 pings will help even more! :) Seeing traceroutes from around the world will help me look into possible latency issues between our server and you, our players. ;)
(Example: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/f8c7afe9fff2fbf11c2d )

Thank you!

- Marco

Thanks @repository - I was mainly looking for traces from the US, however, EU is also helpful in some regards. - I was also hoping to get them from residential ISP's rather then DC's, as the routes a residential ISP chooses are fairly different from a DC provider, who may peer with all kinds of other providers/IX's .

I'll leave this open if anyone else wants to chip in, I already noticed a source of latency and we're already working on fixing that.

Hi,

It seems there are no people that post the trace route from US or Australia.
Is it possible to connect my computer to a VPN/Proxy in US then send a trace route?
