Dungeons Survival
Axyy & Ender
Axyy & Ender
Introduction
What is Dungeons Survival and what would it bring to the server? Basically, Dungeons Survival is a survival RPG / Dungeoncrawler minigame. The goal in this game would be to progress through a world fighting dungeons to progress. Earn special cosmetics, gear and experience. We are trying to add a lot of grinding to the game, something which CubeCraft has never had before. Currently, the closest thing we have to a grindy game is skyblock, and honestly it has kind of run out of options progression wise. Let’s say, Skyblock on CubeCraft is very limited grinding wise. You have the progression but not much else, the purpose of this game would be to give people options, let players choose their own path and progress as fast or slow as they would like. This game will give players a lot of possibilities to progress their survival, you can visit towns where you will be able to complete custom quests, you can try and complete all Dungeons spread across the map and have the best survival experience possible. Everything from Dungeons to Quests will be explained in this thread. This game would run on 1.17 (Caves & Cliffs woahhh!!).We’ve been working on this thread for weeks, so we would appreciate it if you read the whole thread and comment your opinion down below.
Starting your Adventure!
You will start off your adventure in a large town, here you will unlock your first 3 classes which will be Archer, Mage and Berserk. Everything about classes will be explained later. When you start your adventure, you will also be receiving your first quests, which you will need to complete in order to continue. These quests will teach you how the game works, and will give you the basic gear needed to start your adventure. We will be providing more information about quests later in this thread.Your Hometown
Whenever you first join the game you will be spawned in one of the 3 hometowns spread across the map. Each hometowns gives you the ability to complete the same 3 quests and helps you start your adventure. In your hometown you will also be able to gather your first resources, such as food, armor and tools. In your hometown there will be multiple NPC’s such as NPC Quests, NPC Tips, NPC Gifters. The 3 starter Quests - NPC Quests

Hometown Example!
The MAP!
The map is fully custom made with smooth & realistic terrain and is around 2.5k by 2.5k. A total of 10 Dungeons are placed across the map. (Dungeons will be explained later). This map also contains around 10 different premade towns while 3 of them are hometowns. (Hometowns are already explained, normal towns will be explained later). This will obviously take a while to make, but if you want to have a decent working game mode, then it should obviously be worked on very hard! WIth the use of worldpainter a custom (expandable) map around 2.5k by 2.5k (with ores & custom generated mines) wouldn’t take too much work.
Obviously building all towns and working dungeons will definitely take a lot of time. But we feel like it would be worth it, this will definitely bring a lot of players to CubeCraft Java. Nowadays, people like a gamemode where you can grind on, and this will definitely work!
Once you pass the 2.5k by 2.5k map, there will be a zone where you will be able to claim zones and build towns, on these towns you can create quests and shops allowing other players to get you items in exchange for prizes that you can set and provide (if the prizes are not good enough players won't attempt your quests!).
Mines:
There will also be public mines spread across the map! (We will not be having wood farms as you can just chop all trees in the map down, a log will respawn after 35 seconds). You can only access Redstone, Lapiz, Emerald and Coal mine from the beginning. Other ones have to be unlocked by improving your adventure mining levels.Coal mine: 8
Iron mine: 7
Gold mine: 6
Redstone & Lapiz mine: 5
Emerald mine: 3
Diamond mine: 2
Netherite (Netherzone): 1
Endmine (Endzone): 1
Note: All mines are protected by strong mobs based on the zone, for example zombies defend the iron mine while endermans defend the Endmine.
🏙 Building a Town!
Town Building - Basics
throughout your adventure you will acquire coins, these can be used to purchase different items throughout the game, but they can also be used to build a town. To create a town you must claim land using coins. On these land claims you will be able to build different types of buildings and roads, each giving certain perks to your town. To construct a building you need to have resources and coins. Buildings and roads would be placed in a similar fashion to tower defense where you select an area and a premade building is constructed for you, some of these would be a town hall, barracks, and houses. This will help to add another grinding aspect to the game as you need to gather resources, as well as preventing the entire wild to be built out in a few days.Town Building - Claiming
Claiming land can work in a similar way to a typical survival server, but to create a claim you must pay a certain number of coins per “plot” (most likely a chunk). Once you lay claim to a plot of land you must prepare defenses, because to allow people to use land over they will be able to raid your town for resources, coins, and of course land. You can start claiming land at least 100 blocks away from a premade town + as soon as you claim your first chunk, the next chunk you claim must be connected to it otherwise the price will go up very high. You can claim by simply typing /claim in chat, a price will pop up and if you are sure you want to purchase this chunk then you type /claimconfirm.Town Building - Setup
Once you have claimed a plot of land there will be a few things you need to do to set up your town. The Town Hall will let you name your town and will be used to change all the basic settings. Some of the first things you will need to do are:- Name Town
- Set Professions of citizens
- Build Houses
- Build Profession Buildings
- Build Roads / Paths (citizens will only be able to travel on roads or paths)
- Set up Barracks
Town Building - Defenses
You won't always be online (hopefully), so you will need another way to defend your town against attacks. This will be done with barracks and troops. One of the buildings that you can build will be a barrack, and here you can recruit troops to defend your town in case of attacks, these troops will most likely be mobs in the game such as zombies, skeletons and blazes. Each troop will cost a certain amount of coins to train, but be careful! Don't train too many troops because you will need to supply them with food.Town Building - Raids
If you want coins or materials, and have some good armor and weapons, raid someone else's town! When you enter someone's town you can start a raid by attacking buildings or trampling crops. Once you begin a raid the towns defenses will come out to defend, and you will need to either kill the defenses, or quickly raid as many buildings as possible before they kill you! If you wipe out the entire town you can salvage the buildings for coins and materials as well and use the land to build your own town.Town Building - Citizens
In your town you can build houses, each house will bring anywhere from 1-5 citizens to your town (depending on the size of the house). You may be wondering, “Why would i waste my money on houses?” well, these citizens can be given professions. A list of professions are as follows;- Farmer - Harvests crops such as wheat or potatoes for you
- Baker - turns wheat into bread and potatoes into baked potatoes (to make them edible for both you and your troops)
- Miner - Mines stone and ores from nearby mining sites (within a certain radius)
- Blacksmith - refines these ores into usable ingots
Town Building - Quests
Towns will allow you to set up quests for other players to gather resources that you want / need in exchange for prizes. These prizes can be whatever you want and are set by the player. (This player needs to stock the quest NPC with the prize, otherwise other people will not be able to complete it). These quests can have any item to be gathered, you just need to give a good prize!Town Building - Wrap-Up
- Claim areas in the Wild
- Customizable Town Settings
- Citizens (Houses & Professions)
- Defenses!
- Raid other towns
- Produce Materials
- Host Quests
🏘 Premade Towns!
As explained in the MAP section above, there will be 10 premade towns spread across the entire map. But what can you do in these towns? Are they useful to your progression? Yes and Yes, all premade towns give you the ability to gain coins, complete quests and sell & buy resources. They are kinda similar to hometowns but you won't be seeing any gift NPCs. Also different from hometowns are the TIP NPCs, the TIP NPCs in premade towns will provide you tips based on your current progression! Also, once you complete a task in a premade town, they will automatically update to your next quest - If you complete one of the starter quests in your hometown, it will simply say task completed right after.Premade towns Wrap-up!

Dungeons
We’re finally here, the Dungeons section. In this section we will tell you everything about Dungeons, how they are built, how to access them, how to complete them and what the rewards are. This whole game is about Dungeons, and for you to get ready to complete them. Hence why we don’t allow everyone to do them immediately. Your adventure and quests are there for you to become ready to complete Dungeons and get the rewards.
Each Dungeon will have a tier from 1 to 5. Basically, how higher the tiers, how harder the Dungeons will be for you to complete. The access prize will also be higher. As said above, everything will be explained in this section, so make sure to read this very carefully.
Dungeons - Basics
To access a dungeon you will need to meet both level requirements, and story milestones. As well as purchasing a dungeon key for a certain number of coins and resources. Dungeons will be scattered across the map and they will be an important part of the story / adventure. The 5 tiers of dungeons will all have different requirements and entrance fees, based on their difficulty, but this also means they will have better or worse rewards.
When you start a Dungeon, a menu will open which gives you the ability to queue up for 5 minutes so a max of 3 other friends can join you, or you can choose to force-start the Dungeon alone.
When someone is doing a Dungeon, no-one else on that server will be able to do it until they finish it.
Dungeons - Layout
Dungeons will contain different rooms, each one with a different goal needed to move on, these could include: Fighting Rooms, Survival Rooms, Trap Rooms, Parkour Rooms, and more. To continue in the dungeon you must complete a set of tasks, For example, a Trap room would require you to collect an item and bring it back to the start without dying to the traps.Once beating all of the rooms (the number will vary depending on dungeon tier), you will encounter a boss room, in this room there will be a boss that you need to fight, defeat it? and you claim all the rewards.
Dungeons - Access
As said above, Dungeons will have some requirements in order for you to access them. Such as Adventure Levels, Coins & certain items. Every Dungeons requires you to have Combat Level 5. For now, no Dungeons require another Adventure Level but this could easily be changed.Examples:
- Tier 1 - Combat Level 5, 25k coins, 3 wither-skeleton skulls.
- Tier 2 - Combat Level 7, 50k coins, 15 GOD apples.
- Tier 3 - Combat Level 10, 15 XP Levels, 75k coins, 3 wither-skeleton skulls.
- Tier 4 - Combat Level 15, 30 XP Levels, 100k coins, 64 GApples.
- Tier 5 - Combat Level 20, 45 XP Levels, 150k coins, 15 wither-skeleton skulls.
Dungeons - Rewards
Obviously, after completing a Dungeons you will be rewarded with something very special. Something which can be used in order to make even more progress in your adventure. We already had some examples, used in Tool & Weapon upgrading, but there will be many more of course. The Reward you get is completely based on what the Dungeon you played. You will always get the same reward from the same Dungeon, because sometimes you will need more of the same dungeon-item in order to upgrade a weapon for example. Although, each Dungeon will get an unique reward which won’t be obtainable from another Dungeon.
Dungeons - Shops
Each dungeon boss will drop specific exclusive items, these can be used in crafting armors and weapons (explained below), but also for buying weapons and tools that match your current progression level. Items could cost any number of resources or coins, rewarding those who grind out a dungeon.Examples:
- Elytra - 12 Dragon Wings
- Rabbit Boots - 4 Lucky Rabbit Feet
