Straight to the point, there is no need to reduce the price, just give the rank more perks. Players shouldn't feel scammed if they reduce the price, though. All the players who bought obsidian support the server and help to keep it running! As TheQueenWaddle said, see it as a donation, although it's a purchase in your eyes.
Its better to give more permissions and stuff because all the players who bought obsidian would be mad , I think it would be best to give obsidian more value
The highest rank that I bought on cube is Emerald and I won't - never - buy Obisidian without having any good reason. It's not worth it, neither the money neither the perks that you get from the upgrade.

So, I've been looking at the rank obsidian in the shop, and the same goes for the emerald rank. And even though this MAY have been suggested before, I'd still like to make my own statement on this one.
So basically there's an actual difference in price between obsidian and emerald, and not a few pounts no no no, 50 pounds to be exact with you. View attachment 143405
Which I believe is a ridiculous amount of money for the few extra things you get. These are the exclusive things you get when purchasing an obsidian rank:
100 friend slots (instead of 70)
Up to 15 people in a party (Instead of 10)
52+ exclusive items (Instead of 46)
Gamemode (Tower defence voting)
Wing Rush (Arcade voting)
So this is litterly it. 50 pounds is way too much for only these features.
Friend slots: Okay, having 30 more people in your friend list seems much, which it is but it's not that special to be honest. Like who's ever gonna have 100 friends who they ALL know. Most of the time, when I check my friend list, there are so many people I don't know anymore. And I have only like 40 friends at the moment.
15 party people: So this gives you the ability to have 5 more people in your party, which is nice and all. Not gonna say it's unnecessary because it's a nice feature to have but I haven't had a party with more than 8 people to be honest. And this is obviously not the reason why it's so expensive.
52+ exclusive items: Thise one looks great when reading it, but to be honest those are all vanity items (and I'm aware of the fact that there's an update incoming, but still) which are pretty worthless. Like having them is nice, but they're not worth that much in real money.
Gamemode: So this is an extra voting option and I don't even know what it does. That's why I don't play this game at all, like many other people I know. Maybe you've played it once or twice but this isn't a game like sky or eggwars. It's just not that popular and not worth that much money.
Wing Rush: So here you can vote for wingrush, which is nice really. But it's just really that much to have, this may be one of the best features emerald doesn't own, but be honest all obsidian rankers out there, how much have you used this?
So here is my question: Why is there a 50 pound difference in emerald and obsidian? I really don't understand and it's ridiculous in my opinion. So what can we do about it?
Give obsidian rank more permissions
Lower the price of obsidian
Increase the price of emerald
EDIT: Most people agree with the more perks idea, which is my favorite too. Doesn't mean it needs to be done in a rush but it'd be nice to have more perks.
But be honest, these are litterly 5 more features, and at least 3 of them are worth a maximum of 3 pounds (for example). Is it worth so much more because it is in fact the highest rank? Because that'd be an invalid reason for the money you're paying. And for the record, this would mean that it's 10 pound per permission, which is really absurd.

This is because these doesn't have any value but the color and name, but for those who still thinks this counts, here it is.
I completely agree that it is way too much. Like you said, it is a 50 pound difference which turns into about $70 which is completely rediculous. Now I dont think they should lower the price, because then players who payed full price would feel scammed and then they would see that new players get it for less woth no sale. I like what @ArianaGrande said about adding more permissions.

I do agree with that kind of, but if it were like a small sale, then it would still be a scam. For the smaller amount of money, the actual sales would lower that and it would still be low enough to make the actual players feel scammed. I dont have obsidian rank, but this would be very annoying, or at least I think, to the ranked players that payed full price.
How would you feel if emerald rank was reduced in full price when you already bought it? Lets say if it was reduced by... 10-30 pound.
I got the obsidian in 2 parts. First i got the dia rank with sale (90%? Idk). There was no need to buy obsidian or emerald. Only big difference was fly. Then there was another sale (90%? Idk) and got the obsidian rank. It looks expencive in 1 whole purchase but if its in parts its not a big deal ;)
Edited the thread which tells you this is my favorite and most chosen option by everyone here. I'd love to see more indeed, and the vanity update didn't really give us much for that.
They should add new perks for it, but keep in mind a lot of people are willing to pay the extra $50 just so they can say they have the most expensive rank. You're essentially paying for bragging rights, something that a lot of people are happy to pay for.

It is, but some people really value the novelty. A server that has since shut down used to charge $500 for its greatest rank; $250 more than the second-highest. It also had two servers, Factions and Skyblock, which each had an exclusive rank. There were a few people that genuinely paid $1,000 for that bragging right, buying the highest rank for both games. How in the hell that server wasn't profitable enough to sustain itself is the biggest mystery to me.
