Like @Marijn070 said, it depends on how long you've been away and how much you still know about the server. Since everyone is using me as an example, yes i was a Moderator in the past and when i resigned due to personal reasons i was away from the server for a couple of years. Lots of stuff has changed since then, new protocols and guidelines, new way of doing things. Since i haven't been around the server at all I wouldn't be fit enough to immediately pick up where i left off. Hence the reason why i basically had to start with more or less a blank slate.
