Hello CubeCrafters,
I’m very happy to finally announce, after months of hard work, the release of our new party system! The party system allows players to be able to group up and join games together easily - taking the hassle out of getting all your friends into the same game! When joining a team game, we will assign your party to a team automatically - assuming that you can all fit in one team of course, otherwise we’ll let you pick your own teams.

Joining a game

You can join a game as a party using the signs or using the quick join armour stands next to the play boards. The signs are a great way of joining the games as a party, however we’ve revamped our quick join to look at your party and the available games and choose the best game based on team size and party size!

Party chat

Communication within your party is important - so you have the option to enable party chat. Party chat allows you to talk privately with everyone in your party at any time in lobbies or during games. The chat also comes with a few neat little features. Starting a message with an ‘!’ in party chat will send your message into normal chat, and if you start your message with a ‘@’ in normal chat, your message will be put into party chat.

Party limits

As of now each rank has a limit of players that they can currently have in their party, at any given time. The maximum amount of players per rank, are as follows:
  • Stone: 3
  • Iron: 4
  • Lapiz: 5
  • Gold: 6
  • Diamond: 8
  • Emerald: 10
  • Obsidian: 15
Upgrading your rank at https://store.cubecraft.net will get your more party slots!

Settings menu

We’ve redesigned our settings menu to allow us to add two new settings, it’s also a lot prettier! The first setting relates to the new parties. You can toggle party invites so only your friends can invite you, or everyone can invite you or nobody can. This works as a single button that cycles through the options, making the menu tidier! The second addition to the settings menu is flight. Emerald+ ranked players are now able to toggle the fly setting directly in the menu - and it does carry across lobbies, so no need to keep typing /fly!

Friends changes

So alongside the new and amazing party system, we’ve also thrown a few friend system updates into the mix. /f list will now display the game and map the player is located in on the network if they are online, making your friend list look at lot nicer. We’ve also added instantly appearing friends in lobbies - as soon as you add a friend, they’ll show up immediately in the lobby, meaning you don’t need to reconnect to a lobby to see new friends! Another feature which is majorly requested is the ability to tab complete usernames - Now you can do this! As long as you’ve typed in at least 3 characters of their username, you can press tab and we’ll try and guess their username from everyone that is currently online at the time, so you don’t even need to be in the same lobby!
