There’s something fun about building fortresses xD

After all of the failed EggWars rounds I’ve played, I like to prepare for the worst, though I do get overprepared at times. Like sometimes I except a total raid to happen on our island, but we end up winning without much struggle. I await a round where this plan plays out successfully; that would be so satisfying

I put at least one chest somewhere in the fortress in case our egg gets destroyed and we need items fast; we can climb up into the fortress and seek temporary refuge and equip ourselves with the items we need. This chest is usually hidden from the sight of enemy players.
The fortress also serves as a place to shoot arrows from, and if extended outwards enough, even to snipe players off of our bridge.
The fortress can also be a decent place to bridge from; you just have to make sure that enemy players won’t end up using the bridge.

It’s ideal to make the fortress so that it’s not easy for someone to bridge over and hop onto it or to throw an ender pearl onto it.

The fortress sometimes has more than one floor. This offers more than one place to shoot arrows from, and the floors can also be intended for different purposes, such as one floor having a chest in it and another being for shooting arrows from. Also, the higher up the fortress goes, the harder it is generally for enemy players to access.

In some cases, the fortress-building process involves building a wall around the edges of the island. Sometimes the fortress is part of this wall, but usually the fortress is accessed via a ladder or staircase. I don’t often build a wall either, sometimes someone else will start doing it and I’ll help with it. This wall is often 3-5 blocks tall in height

In terms of detail, I don’t make the fortress super detailed as its main purpose is practicality, but it’s fun to add stained glass to a build sometimes. Rarely it’s used in windows, and other times it’s used in the island wall so that you can see through it.

I tried to build a fortress last round and it was rather fun! It’s hard to get other players to cooperate. A big problem is being halfway to finishing the fortress but then an enemy team comes

When I first played cube I was very much into building extraordinary buildings out of the most expensive materials…

However after about 6 months I became blood thirsty and ever since I just rush for kills because to me getting on LB is my goal and every win gets me 1 step closer.
