What if they added a premium perk for the forums?
Those who subscribed for premium (can be monthly, yearly subscription) would receive features such as :

• No chat cooldown
• They get a sexy premium tag
• They can apply their own profile layout (background image) or select a pattern from different default varieties.

I believe this suggestion needed its own thread to discuss it.

I'll add what I think about it here:

I prefer a one time payment over subscriptions, so this could come with an emerald/obsidian rank.

Removed No-Chat cooldown is a cool idea, though a perk that can be taken away if abused.

I love the customizable profile page option (reminds me of those custom neopets shops...)

The premium tag would have to be smart/tidy looking and discreet yet pretty cool to look at.

We could add to that list:

A discreet gold/custom frame around the avatar.

The ability to have more links and characters in the signature (I would love to link the download pages of the mods I use)

+1 For me! Great idea, and if someone does abuses the no-chat cooldown it would be their fault for doing that and their fault for buying!

+0.9 I think the chat cooldown needs to be unlocked... I'd say 200 messages is good.

It's nice for the emerald+ ranks but I noticed some ranked players do not have a forum account some may spam still. I would prefer if players have to get premium and not from their ranks so it will cut down to those who want to dedicate themselves to the forums as they know they have to follow the rules otherwise it's money spent in vain.

Reason for monthly and yearly subscription is so those who can only be active for certain months (due to school or work) can choose monthly since they know they'll not be able to come online much for the next month+ and do not need to waste that timeframe.
Also because monthly wouldn't cost that much so those who want to try out the features as a "trial month" wouldn't need to spend too much compared to yearly or a 3 month subscription.

I suggest to add a Terms and Condition area that says cubecraft has the rights to remove any abused perks.

I love this unique and cool idea. But I think it should only be a thing for Obsidian becuz a difference is needed for EMERALD and OBSIDIAN (of maybe for diamond+)

I do actually agree with you! (Although im having an emerald rank) With Obsidian you have only some more vanity, with this included, it will be way more interesting to buy obsidian!

It is not compulsory.
it just gives players who got premium a few advantages such as changing their background (which I would totally love to do) get a [premium] tag that would look smoking great with your current in game rank once the new forums release it and the best perk would be having no chat cooldown.
Of course there are conditions such as no spamming, no abusive pictures on your layout/background otherwise the perks will be revoked.

I agree with this, in the future I would like to put redirects to commonly asked questions and most looked for threads.. sometimes I just want to write down original quotes and hope others like it. d(>_･ )

I don't like this idea. The forums should stay entirely free.

If I remember correctly, in-game ranks will be on the new forums. In my opinion, that is enough. Many forum users (including me) actually have ranks in-game. We have already helped the server. Why should we pay more than we already have just for the cooldown to be removed (let's keep it real, that's the main reason why people would buy this). Implementing this would make it seem like the owners only cares about money.
Another thing I think I've seen in an old thread a long time ago was that the new forums will have a bullet proof spam protection, so it's very likely that the cooldown will be removed anyway. I think that the profile will be quite customisable too, but I'm just guessing on this point. Here's a screenshot that we got from @Joe Henry back in april.

That's what I heard as well, I have a rank as well and would still think that the premium tag would look good next/below/above it. The cost for premium could be about $5 per month - $14 for three months and $55 for yearly. That way those who aren't always online in game but love helping on the forums could get it for a lower cost than Iron rank or because they want to contribute to the server. It is an option, they don't have to do it if they do not want to.

If the owners only cared about money, I'm sure they would have half-assed the server and not cared about the community but that isn't the case. I have talked to owners who only cared about money and trust me, they were horrible. Cubecraft is different, it wouldn't be wrong to want some funds to get things going.

We won't know for sure if said above will be implemented or not. That's why I'm suggesting this as we won't know for sure. I mean, that's what suggestions are for. We won't know what they have planned so we'll throw in some suggestions and hope they'll consider it if they want more ideas for the new forums. I understand your POV but I'll still stand by this idea for now.
