Hello!

Recently, I have been spending a lot of time playing in duels to improve my PvP skills. In that time, I noticed one major flaw in the system which can easily be used to improve your kills to deaths ratio and stop your opponent from getting a kill.

What am I talking about?

Rage Quitters! The players that leave the game right before they die. This takes all of the satisfaction that can come from winning away.

What is my proposition?

I propose to add a "cool down" period to shun against taking part in the annoying practice. This waiting period does not need to be anything substantial; I was thinking somewhere around 30 seconds. Within the 30 second time, when the player wants to join a game, they could get a message saying something similar to "You cannot participate in a game for 30 seconds because you were a bad sport."

In addition to that, I believe that the rage-quitter NEEDS to be given the death. This in addition to the previous proposition could eliminate 95% of the quitters. Doing this will give players a push to finish the game if they care about their K/D.

How big of an issue is this?

This issue is sadly bigger than most people seem to notice. I currently have 125 more wins than kills. Many days, my opponent will leave over 10% of the games I play.

What are your thoughts about this?

If people ragequit you just join a new game.
Making this punishable is one of the most stupid things they could do.
To prevent a fight, I'm not calling you stupid, but the suggestion is just really bad.

Why is this a problem..? It gets you into the lobby quicker which means that you can get into another duel sooner. It also rewards you with the full experience and points that you would've received had you killed them as intended.

Well, as the leaderboards are based on kills and not on wins, I understand why it can be important for some people to get kills rather than wins. I personally don't see the problem either, it doesn't happen to me very often.

Don't think it's necessary to make it punishable tho, they just don't want to fiht you anymore, free points and free xp, no problem, is it?

People will rage it can't be helped if they keep going on swearing, and stuff then warn them, and stuff, but theirs no need of this you have won you get sent back to lobby and never see them again.

It is annoying to not get the kill.

Many players are going for the scoreboard which is based on kills rather than wins.

If you have things to do, a 30 second waiting period would not be an issue.

This is a problem because many players are trying to grind for kills, when the other player leaves, the winner does not get the kill. If you are not willing to finish the duel you started, why would you want to join another one?

It happens in nearly 10% of the games that I play. If the leaderboard was based on wins, this definitely would not be an issue.

But it's such a small minority of people that play to achieve a leaderboard status.

If you are not willing to finish the duel you started, why would you want to join another one?
Perhaps they clicked on the wrong sign? Or maybe they changed their mind, and decided they'd rather use a different kit.

He's right you're getting everything for free this shouldn't be a punishment

No, sorry. I still see no reason to ''kick'' them from the server. I do not think that will help.
It will only benefit you and not the rage-quitter.
And if you talk about ''a few seconds'', how many seconds do you prefer? :rolleyes:

I completely agree with this.

Having the player get a death could discourage it.
