The small game lobbies are one of the things that give cube an unique feel, because most other servers
don’t have them
They are not only a place to walk trough in between games, but also to hang out, fun things like lobby parkour and easter eggs, or some good ol’ exploration
It’s a place where you can meet your fellow battlearena enjoyers and friends or ask for a duo without having to specify the game or anything
Or meeting rivals and the same players over and over again, if you play on daily basis
Thus, small game lobbies even help to bring the community together
Furthermore, it gives every game space to unfold (that’s hard to explain :p)
In other words, you know you are playing skywars when you are in the skywars lobby And the builds show give it a face by showing what a game is about in a quite artistic way, a bit like a good thumbnail for a video
Instead of being crammed in a main lobby, where nothing tells them apart except their name and statue, making it all feel a bit more an arcade like to me, quantity over quality
They should be updated instead, to match the main lobbies
About the more server space argument:
Server usage would remain roughly the same when the small lobbies are removed, the amount of active main lobbies has to be increased dramatically in return
Just hold all the players, since they all still
require an equal amount player slots and processing power
Also true for pre-game lobbies like in e.g. Hive, as they are different way of implementing the small game-specific lobbies
Sorry, but I strongly disagree
