if only it was that easy you aren't taking into account Substitute things like swears or even make other links which have different key parts like not having .com instead with .co or whatever
like saying things like gey (Not saying being gay is a bad thing at all) but gay is currently in the chat filter because people use it as an insult

I have not seen people use gay as an insult in a long time .

Yeah . They word gay should be treated the same way . Its not offensive even if used offensively.

don't even get me started I was using an example of something that IS used as an insult and therefor is in the chat filter
because I didn't want to swear I could have said Jew it is also in the chat filter

Not really a big problem. People already bypass the current filter. So the simplest thing you could do is report the ones who bypass the name filter.

A Simple filter won't likely stop someone from swearing in an item name

Although I get your suggestion, I don't really think this is needed. I quite enjoy naming items as it is funny if the chat says

Randomguy1 was slain by DanDaDino using his bare hands

Or something like that. Not many people use links, and you could just report it under advertising.
If it is inappropriate, again, you can report under inappropriate name/skin/cape

This isn't really necessary in my opinion, and removes a pretty fun addition to the game

I suppose the reporting doesn't work, you are right about that, but still:
A lot of people enjoy renaming items and it is quite fun. A few people rename items into inappropriate things, but I don't see that many of them. I still do not agree, but please remember this is my opinion, and you have your opinion, so let's just agree to disagree, if you know what I mean

But if the filter doesn't detect it the person doesn't even need to use the item in order to say it, they could simply type it in the chat.
What's the point of disabling the item rename then? They'd have to completely disable the chat, too.

well I think the entire point was how you could say links so... yeah that's in the chat filter but I think the fact that anyone would actually click the links is enough to confuse me
