Hi there,

Since Cubecraft updated their server with a new command, the report command, probably a lot of people are using that command now instead of using the reports.cubecraft.net site.
To apply for staff, Cubecraft requires a minimal of 50 succesfull reports on there report website, without including the reports which are done using the /report command on the network itself.

Why are server reports done by command not included in their application requirements, and will this be added overtime?

it is true the reports on the page should have dedication, not as simply writing it in a chat, it would be better if you keep maintaining the / report as something extra but do not join the page. :D

es cierto los reportes en la pagina deben tener dedicacion no como un simplemente escribirlo en un chat, seria mejor si sigan manteniendo el /report como algo extra pero que no se una a la pagina

Have to disagree.

You can /report someone in, like, 10 seconds?
Reporting on the site requires way more effort, meaning people who have 50+ reports on the site have shown more dedication to cube compared with people with 50+ /reports
But u still have reported 50 ppl. What does the time u take reporting someone have to do with this? The most important thing is the amount of accepted reports compared to the amount of denied reports

I think the huge difference between online reports and in-game reports is the effort that is being put in.

Members without the monthly subscription would be required to open their recording software, to upload the clip and to create a full report, which all takes a few minutes - depending on the situation

If we compare that to in-game reports, the monthly subscribers just type out a command and wait for a moderator to pop up. Takes a few seconds to type out the command and you're done.

This would put Plus subscribers in a huge advantage where they don't have to put as much effort into reporting, which staff members should do.
Lastly, like the multipliers aren't P2W enough, let's not turn CubeCraft in a server where you donate a monthly amount in order to get staff easier

Yeah but I’m sure they won’t see /reports as equals as web page reports.
Remember CapitanGato said “in-game reports applicants stats”. I don’t think in-game reports should count as reports needed to apply, but they sure should be taken into account when giving someone the chance to become a helper!

Do you have a magic ball?

He just said the team would like to take reports from both platforms into consideration, what he said doesn't mean in-game reports mean less than online reports

Fully agree with this though! It shouldn't count towards the requirement: you have to put effort into your reports, though the in-game reports would show how good one is at catching rule-breakers and identifying hacked clients. It could also show how long it takes a helper candidate to report someone (e.g immediately without really being sure but just having a suspicion, or only after having watched for some time and having taken everything in to consideration)

I agree but would still like to see them being taken into account when applying for staff as they still accurately display one's ability to spot hackers against a background of skilled and laggy players. Staff should however, referring to your statement, put the amount of in-game reports in contrast to their amount of web-reports. If one's reports predominantly exist out of /reports it says a lot about how much effort they are willing to put into the server and should therefore be taken into consideration while analysing one's helper-application in my opinion. On the other hand, a lot of /reports could indicate that the applicant is very active in game which obviously appreciated as well since Cubecraft's staff is currently having a hard time handeling all of the in-game reports. In-game reporting is also very useful for the ones who're not always able to record on time due to various reasons. You could argue that your amount reports shouldn't rely on the rank you carry, but the same could be said for having a fast PC or a slow one by way of illustration. My feelings are slightly mixed but I still support the proposal.

Worth noting that the number of successful reports a user has made is not a particularly useful metric when it comes to /report (or even the reports site). What is far more useful is to know the ratio of reports that were accurate. If you made 200 successful reports but 1800 reports were innocent players then that isn't a particularly good 'hit rate'. It's things like this that we'll also be looking into.

Here’s the difference that I think no one here mentioned (if you did, sorry) /report in game almost ALWAYS is handled by Sentinel. The reports on the website are handled by staff. On the website, if sentinel bans them, you don’t get credit. So why should you get credit for Sentinel banning in-game if you don’t in the website?

/report doesnt work like this. When u /report someone, a staff member will get notified. Sentinel is watching everyone no matter if they got reported or not. U dont get credit if sentinel bans them

(I think it works like this)

To confirm:
If you /report someone ingame members of staff Will be notified.
If they can ‘catch’ the hacker you’ll recieve a message and it will be vieuwable at your report history (/Rh).
Sentinel wont be notified by your /report as far as i know. (Aint watchdog right...)

And if you record a hacker then upload it to YouTube and the reports site a staff member will ‘revieuw’ your video and decide if the evidence is good enough proof for a ban.
If the user is already banned by; sentinel/staff/another report. Thats what will be displayed at your reports page.

Also, when you report a player using /report there is no 100% garruantee they will be banned, then staff still need to ‘catch’ them while hacking.

By recording and uploading if its clear proof you’ll have 100% ensurange they Will recieve their punishment.

I already think the new requirements are to easy. But this is making it WAY to easy. I personally think if you want to be staff you put in 130% effort and report online rather then in-game.

For staff, I agree it should be online tbh. I like the idea of in-game reporting, but staff is a commitment and you should be able to tell hackers, not report it in-game and let sentinel deal with it.
