Hello everyone,
So, I have suggested this before in one of my threads, and @Tacosbefriends said it's a good idea, but I'm not sure if anything has changed.
Basically, I think that someone who submits a map that is really good and gets added to the network, should receive some kind of a reward, except for just a shout-out.
It takes a lot of time to build a good map, and there are not many people who actually submit awesome maps. That's why I think that they deserve a reward for all their hard work, effort, and hours and hours of building.
The rewards could be:
1) Diamond rank for the first map accepted (or a rank-up if they're Diamond or Emerald; if they're Obsidian, they should get some points and/or vanity points)
2) Obsidian rank for the second map accepted (some points and/or vanity points if they're already Obsidian)

Before saying anything, please keep in mind that it takes hours to build a good map, especially if there is only 1 person building. Even when there are more builders, it still takes a lot of time and effort, and most importantly talent... not everyone can be good at building.

I think this would increase the amount of bad maps we receive as well. Giving ranks out is a bit much for maps, having your map added and credited is plenty of a reward in my eyes.

Maybe it would increase the amount of the bad maps, but those people will figure out that they are just wasting their time.
But, on the other side, it would certainly increase the amount of good maps, too, because people would be motivated to get ranks. And, you obviously never experienced building, since you're saying that "Giving ranks out is a bit much for maps". It's nice for you to play on a map, but a lot of time, effort and talent has been put in to that map. And not just that one... in every single one. I think that is enough to say, and that is the reason why I think it's completely worth giving out ranks to those awesome people.

Ik what you mean, but when you give in a map, mostly it's because your trying to improve cube, not get a reward. If cube started giving out rewards you would get everyone submitting things, it would not be as good. Maybe the players could get points or vanity points, but i don't think a rank is a good thing to give out. Cube should do something similar what mineplex does, when the game starts it says the map and who made it.......... Still good idea, the builders do need some more credit. Some of the maps they make are AWESOME!

I understand what you're saying. But I think its better to just display the map builders in chat when the game starts.

Thousands of people play your map en enjoy playing on it every time. And your work is on one of the biggest minecraft servers in the world , i think that having the chance of getting your map on the network is a very big reward. I know what you mean with working hard and the making of the map takes a very long time , but when its done and when its accepted , you have thousands of players playing on your map :D !

I have mixed feelings on this, I think this is PORTIONALLY a good idea. There's pro's and con's to this idea, more cons than pros. Honestly I think a better idea would be CCGN would get their own build team tag, and the players that get accepted maps only get a Builder tag. Promoting people to try and build is a good idea by saying "Get a free rank for making us a map!" but honestly, this is a 10,000+ player network at prime times. You're talking thousands of people, that's going to get overwhelming with the amount of people wanting to try to be a builder. Just my thoughts.

If your maps are good enough submit a builder application, follow the steps, in the end I'm sure you'd get a rank from being a builder.

That's a sick idea! I haven't actually taught of that.

Having your map on the server is more than enough to be a reward.
I guess you're right, but Roebahn suggested that before the game starts, in the chat there could be name of the map and builders who were working on it. I think that could be a really good idea, because the builders would get featured in YouTube videos, and their name would become recognizable all around the network.

yay, there should be somewhere the name of the builder! Before the game starts is a good idear! I like it too to get a rank for your building, they are both a good reward!

I have seen in another server the tag Mapper, given to those players who got 2 maps accepted for the server. It´s quite hard to get this and people would make an effort. :)

hmmm... Kinda like it. But I stick to the idea of just displaying the mapbuilders a second before the game starts.

+1 For name credit, but not a huge credit, maybe 1 line, or just a sign in the map itself
I don't think anyone would read a sign on a map. Plus, it is kinda unprofessional to have credit signs somewhere in the map.

I didn't wanna suggest giving the Builder rank on purpose because it requires people to be active on Cube's build server.. That server you're talking about has 2 different ranks, I think. Builder - for people who are actively making new maps, and Mapper - for people that build 2 maps that get accepted. I don't think CubeCraft should copy this idea, but something similar should be added for sure! :)

I think they shouldn't give a rank to people submiting maps, but maybe a kit in a game, or some points would be fine. And also the credits. But this only if the game is extremely good, if it's a normal map meh, just the credits.

How do you mean a 'normal map'? Bad maps won't get accepted, only the ones that have the 'wow' factor. (Luke said that xD)
