1. I didn't have a forums account until a few weeks ago because I'm lazy (I've been playing for a lot longer time than my forums account).
Irrelevant to the subject

2. It wasn't a huge problem until recently because I've always able to find a English game, but now it's getting ridiculous.
So? Don't hope everything will go your way. Play like you don't need your team to back you up.

3. I'm lazy.
Yet again, irrelevant to the subject.

I think that there should be separate CubeCraft lobbies for each language.
Split communities, and you are assuming that nobody speaks more than 1 language.
If someone that speaks in Spanish, asks for help, Anyone that can understand it can help them. Even the ones in the English lobbies for instance.
No matter what you do, this won't be good for the community.

In fact there is a language setting in settings, what does it do because obviously it doesn't do anything.
It changes the in-game messages that appear, like "Person1 was shot by Person2" "Person 1 was slain by Player2 with [Mixing Spoon]"
It doesn't make every single thing that language.

Make there one main lobby for people who haven't selected a language in their CubeCraft settings.
Then one a lobby for each language.
Split communities = bad bad bad
I've explained it a bit above

The reason why I request this is because a language barrier absolutely decreases the chance of winning
How exactly? Even if it's a team game, you don't need a team to win.
99% of the time, the team I am stuck in are the silent ones, or the ones claiming that they are the best and we need to do all the work.

It wouldn't require much, except a little bit of Bukkit trickery.
Bukkit is dead, and there will never be a proper translator. Else you'll get sentences like "Yes I want play very much" or sentences where there are typos and those won't be translated.

This is imperative to improving the quality of the games so I hope you will take my plea into consideration.
Someone doesn't speak the same language I do? This game must be terrible quality!
How about you don't discriminate like that.

Let's say that you're all the way on the other side of the map and someone is going for your team's egg, how are you supposed to know.

What if you need backup?

What if you need to order people around because they aren't doing anything.

I can name a bunch of other reasons.
And all of those reasons will be answered with this:
If they don't speak your language, don't try to warn them. They won't understand it and it wouldn't have helped. That's their fault for not paying attention to their surroundings.
Nothing to do with language itself.

Because there is no communication and there is no team without communication
Hah. You don't need your team to win.

Well alot of people aren't bi-lingual, so it's unfair to those people.
Think of it like this way. This will be an example
You speak only English .
You're in a team, with a Dutch person that's also fluent in German and French.
The Dutch person is very bi-lingual compared to you.
And it's unfair to you? They know 3 languages, while you only know English.
You are in no position to complain.

Because people can talk to each other and actually understand each other.

If you want to speak to English speaking people, then select English and boom.
If you want to speak to Spanish speaking people, then select Spanish and boom.

Do you see how easy that is, and why we should implement it.
Sure they want to, but you can't force it on them. Why don't you just learn to speak Spanish?

Except that in my case, I only find an English team 3 times out of 10.
Too bad that's your luck.

And you're getting this information from where.
Where are you getting yours from? Assumptions I presume.

And why does this effect you? Don't just argue why it's useless for you, argue why it's bad for you.
That's selfish.
I might as well argue that everyone with the name "Gainfullterror" gets free admin rank with no effort, just because it's not really bad for anyone.
You are allowed to argue for the community and the players that don't browse the forums.

PS @Jeff_Bllkth Finished with this one until there's more to strike down.

That's ok but I think my idea is better
It's not racism, Spanish isn't a race Dutch isn't a race, English isn't a race.

You're just one of those people who say everything is racist, disgusting.
Because people can talk to each other and actually understand each other.

If you want to speak to English speaking people, then select English and boom.

Do you see how easy that is, and why we should implement it.
When you see the quadruple post...

But for real, I'd be really appreciated if you would put them in one comment. See Gainfullterror's comment as example.

If you didn't want to read that part you don't need to, it's just a little thing I added in to address a comment that I thought people were gonna make

Bukkit is dead, and there will never be a proper translator. Else you'll get sentences like "Yes I want play very much" or sentences where there are typos and those won't be translated.

I NEVER SAID TRANSLATE YOU IDIOT. AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT SPIGOT IS BASED OFF OF BUKKIT YOU ABSOLUTE IDIOT.

In my opinion CubeCraft is a very diverse place, and it's out diversity that makes us special. If you separate the languages, it will remove some of the diversity, therefore I do not support the idea .

Alright so I'm half way across the bridge and someone says something, then I switch to Google Chrome open up Google Translate then select Spanish to English then type in what they say and then press translate and read it and then well you know what happens next.

I understand what you mean. At the end of the day, either play with friends that speak your language, or when you join a game say "Team_Number is My_Langauge". That way you can sometimes get some people that speak your language .

Why would I give half of an answer, when I can have my entire message be reason enough.

No, communities that can't understand each other = bad bad bad
How about you counter what I said about that in the first place.

Then whats the point of team mode if it's like you're solo.
If you want to play with your own team, you can go ahead without being banned.
If you want to play with a random team, you run this risk.
Team mode can basically be solo against teams at times.
It's not like your team is forced to kiss your boots.

I NEVER SAID TRANSLATE YOU IDIOT. AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT SPIGOT IS BASED OFF OF BUKKIT YOU ABSOLUTE IDIOT.
If you know that bukkit is dead, why even mention it? Why not bring up Spiggot in the first place? Well?
And I didn't say that bukkit would make the translator happen, did I?
What I was trying to do is, make sure you wouldn't say something dumb like that as an argument.
But apparently you didn't see that.

WHO AM I DISCRIMINATING?????? AND IT IS TERRIBLE QUALITY BECAUSE YOU CAN'T COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEAM.
You're implying that: because you can't speak with your team, because they don't speak language, because they can't speak English, the game is terrible quality.
Well obviously you don't understand English, so you might need to read that sentence again.
I probably understand it better than you do, even though it's not my first language.
Try me, and then beat the argument while you're at it.

Oh just because they can't do English they need to "get the hell out of" your game.
Why don't you just leave? They're not any less important then you are.
They're not going to learn English just to play with someone like you.
And ya might want to lay back on trying to insult others, Just a useful little tip for you ;)

And I'd like to improve it, would you mind someone else other than yourself having a good experience?
What I was saying is, it's not CC's fault for that. Neither is it yours, it's just terrible luck.

Joe...
I agree with you, but not in the way you expressed it. I recommend a filter so that any language could be translated to others language because there's some players who don't speak Spanish or Dutch and then the teams are not coordinated.

I agree that it would be good to have a translating system. But as said in my previous comments, i feel that the idea of separating lobbies decreases our diversity. Just to elaborate, I think it would be nice to keep everyone in the same place, but for their to be some way that the chat can translate different languages into a language of your choice. I don't know how easy this would be, but i think it would come in very useful!

With all respect, I don't like your suggestion. This would split up the community and will make people who speak language like Danish, French, Russian, ... feel left out, as they will not get their own lobbies. Also, English isn't my native language, but I have learned it by chatting with English players. Minecraft servers are good and efficient ways to learn English, but also other languages if you've picked up the basics. ;)

Theoretically, this is a good idea, but the translation would be based on Google Translate. I don't want to sound rude, but most of the people don't put effort in what they write and thus write typos, abbreviations etc, which Google Translate cannot translate. Because of that, the coordination within the team won't improve at all.

Not our problem. It's a shame you don't speak one of the 4 languages another player can speak fluently.

This is why I hate bi-lingual people so much, they all think that it's expected to know a thousand different languages and that it's your fault for not spending a year+ to learn a language.

Did you even read what I said?

I did I don't understand it, can you rephrase it.

Why would I give half of an answer, when I can have my entire message be reason enough.

I'm just saying that's it's pointless because someone already said it.

How about you counter what I said about that in the first place.

And that was?

If you want to play with your own team, you can go ahead without being banned.
If you want to play with a random team, you run this risk.
Team mode can basically be solo against teams at times.
It's not like your team is forced to kiss your boots.

My friends are never online and when they are, it's usually only one of them.
I'd like to not run this risk if you don't mind.
Because people leave 5 seconds in the game.
I'M NOT ASKING FOR THAT I'M ASKING TO UNDERSTAND THEM

If you know that bukkit is dead, why even mention it? Why not bring up Spiggot in the first place? Well?
And I didn't say that bukkit would make the translator happen, did I?
What I was trying to do is, make sure you wouldn't say something dumb like that as an argument.
But apparently you didn't see that.

Because it's still Bukkit, it's just relabeled, and that's what I know it by.
I never said that.
Use what as an argument?

You're implying that: because you can't speak with your team, because they don't speak language, because they can't speak English, the game is terrible quality.

If we can't communicate with each other it's not a team, so it's terrible quality.

I probably understand it better than you do, even though it's not my first language.
Try me, and then beat the argument while you're at it.

For the challenge of course. Solo can be extremely easy sometimes, and Team mode will be great for that.

The challenge shouldn't be getting a team that you understand it should be strategizing.

You're in no position to complain about them.

We both have a position to complain because my teammate doesn't understand me and I don't understand my teammate.

Oh just because they can't do English they need to "get the hell out of" your game.
Why don't you just leave? They're not any less important then you are.
They're not going to learn English just to play with someone like you.
And ya might want to lay back on trying to insult others, Just a useful little tip for you ;)

I think that they should be playing with people who speak their language.
I'm not asking them to learn English, you don't understand what I'm trying to say.

What I was saying is, it's not CC's fault for that. Neither is it yours, it's just terrible luck.

I'd like it so that I get a team I can understand 100% of the time

*sigh*
The person you told that to, had based it off of guesses & assumptions

What assumptions am I making?

You literally told him to not reply, unless it effects him in some way.
Does he not get to talk for the community that's not on the forums?

Well?

No I told him not to argue about it being useless for him, not to not reply.
He gets to talk if it forwards the conversation.
If it doesn't change anything then why do they care enough to post.

I said there would be a main lobby for people who haven't selected a language and we could easily add a lobby for those languages.

I understand this would split the community but it would split it in a good way.

Honestly, translation would be enough because I could easily clue in the words from context. Unless they completely mess it up.
