Hello gamers! I am Powerofbeds, some random guy you might have heard of who is never here except when Snowman Survival is also here. Snowman Survival has returned for this year and thusly so have I. I have noticed that games are a bit more difficult than they were last year, meaning people have been getting better. I fear that a possible reason for that is that so many people cross-team at the start by intentionally allowing themselves to get caught at the beginning of the game, starting the game as a snowman even if they were not selected as such. This would mean they get a lot of practice as snowmen because that's how they spend every game. (Yeah, doing that is against the rules. You have to try to remain a survivor as long as you can.)

(Snowman Survival is the same as Slime Survival but with a few differences. Slimes are instead snowmen, they cannot charge their shots, Pirates map doesn't exist, Toys map is called Holiday Workshop, Forest is called Candy Cane, Frost Sword is called Snowman Stabber and does not create ice around the target, games start with eight people and 3.5 minutes, and Blink, Slime Puncher, Slime Trap, Slime Blinder Bomb, Survivor Recover Wand, and Survivor Recover Grenade do not exist. That will be useful information if you decide to read my threads on Slime Survival.)

Considering that I have already made thirteen tips-and-tricks threads for this one game to which I am far too addicted, I will keep this one short. It will focus on the new map. Read my other threads if you really want to improve. And this will be my first thread where I don't mention the easy trick of not showing your powerups! I mentioned in literally all of my other threads that you can select your second hotbar slot and only switch to the first to use your powerup, and then snowmen can't see what you have until you've already used it. Ah, and I mentioned it anyway. Oops.

Snowglobe was a map that existed last year. It was very unbalanced in the favor of the survivors as it had a lot of room to escape the snowmen, several easy places to gain height and wait out the timer, and a massive enclosed ladder that took ten seconds to climb and was absolutely beautiful for stalling. It was replaced by Snowman, an old map that did not exist last year but has existed way back in the day. Though it used to be a great map, certain changes have been made and now it is horrendously unbalanced in the favor of the snowmen. It is significantly smaller than any other existing map. It has a few presents with ladders to provide high ground for the survivors to use, but the ladders surround all sides of these presents, making them very unsafe because snowmen have too many ways up. The trees around the map are troublesome because they turn the ground into an open labyrinth, making movement more predictable. Their leaves block the view of incoming snowmen, and most are covered in barrier blocks to prevent the survivors from using these trees at all. Those that do not have barrier blocks decay about two seconds after the survivor lands on them. The only reasonable spot for survivors to stay is a present without ladders in the corner of the map, which is also dangerous because it can be difficult to escape if two snowmen approach together. Overall, this map is an absolute nightmare for survivors.

There's not much to be said about playing as a snowman on this map. If you are the first snowman and you lose, you have a skill issue and should probably be reading my other threads. Because of the small size of the map, it is very easy to quickly corner survivors, and the trees make their movement more predictable. One important thing to note is that you should avoid following survivors through the corridor at the base of the giant snowman. This accomplishes nothing. Instead, wait until they get to the end and watch which way they turn. If they turn right, go right. If they turn left, go left. You will meet with them a lot faster than if you follow them directly. This is more effective if they are going from the front to the back. The other option is they turn around because they meet another snowman on the other side, in which case you are still there to catch them. There are lots of ladders leading up to presents, so if a survivor is on one of these presents, use the ladder closest to the center if it is convenient. This will push them toward the edge of the map. Remember to toggle third-person mode so you can watch for where they go.

If you are a survivor on this map, you're probably doomed, but don't let that demotivate you. Stay in the open and be ready to run, because no matter where you go, it only takes a few seconds for the snowman to catch up with you. Only a few leaves are without barrier blocks, and you can see which ones those are because they have their top faces. If a face of a transparent block is touching another transparent block, that face is hidden. That is why you cannot see how many layers of glass there are in a thick glass wall and it is also why you cannot see the top faces of the leaves that have barriers on them. There are only a few leaves without barriers. They are beside the red gift on the giant snowman's right, and they lead nowhere. Just ignore them.

You will eventually want to go to the red gift in the far corner on the giant snowman's left, but as was previously mentioned, escaping is dangerous if two snowmen approach together. That is why I said "stay in the open", because you will want to wait until you can grab a powerup before going to that red gift. Decoy is best, and leap and instant wall can also work but are more awkward to use in a dangerous situation. Part of the ribbon on this present stretches out toward the center of the map and is great for using to parkour toward the center during an escape, potentially evading the notice of the snowmen. Try to use it as the snowman is starting to climb up to you. If you get chased, never go through the corridor because your chances of getting pincered are quite high, and if you don't, snowmen can simply wait at the other end and follow you after you turn. Avoid going behind the giant snowman at all if you can help it.

Congratulations! By reading this thread, you've increased your winning chances as a survivor on the Snowman map from about 1% to closer to 2%. This map will always be against you until you become a snowman, but I hope this short thread has improved your game on this evil map at least a little bit. Thanks for reading!

(To be clear, I am not trying to say that the Snowman map is bad or should be removed. I do think a balancing update for this map could be a good idea, but my words like "it used to be a great map", "horrendously unbalanced", "nightmare", and "evil map" are a mix of the map actually being unbalanced and my sense of humor at work. It does balance out the Snowglobe map from last year being unbalanced in the favor of the survivors.)

I think the Snowman map favors the Snowmen, as you said. The map is tiny, and there aren’t many ways to escape. The only good part for survivors is that there are some great hiding spots. However, the Snowman tracker is really overpowered for the main Snowman, who can easily track you.

My strategy on the Snowman map is to climb into one of the presents and wait until I see a Snowman coming toward me. I try to collect as many power-ups as I can to escape. I always look out for the decoy power-up, as it helps me escape more easily.

That said, I’ve won many matches as a survivor there because some Snowmen don’t use the tracker or aren’t prepared. The Snowman map is a good place to practice escaping from Snowmen, so it’s not that bad overa
ll.

Btw. i am also only active, when there is snowman survival :)

Honestly, I feel like the hiding spots are less abundant on this map than on most others. And of course, the snowman does indeed have a tracker that makes hiding almost never a good strategy.

If the first snowman is at least half-decent at the game, it's never easy to win, but sometimes the snowman just isn't. Some never stray far from spawn. Sometimes they just don't know how the game works, which is weird because it puts instructions in chat. Some people also just AFK at the start which means extra time for the survivors. I do wish more people had the sense to not fall for that garbage though lol

I have the most OP spot and NOBODY KNOWS IT! To prevent me from revealing the secret to everyone just dm in a conversation to hear it (btw you need a computer or a on screen f5 button for it to truly work)

Is there any planned update in the future for a better system against players for using hacks? Like them getting banned instant from the game instead of us to have to fill reports? If not, then that could be a good move. I see hackers often and Sentinel is really slow, most of them get away.
