Note 1: I don’t know how CubeCraft is managed, and you might understand that from reading my thread. This is just to give my opinion on the confidentiality of almost everything.

Note 2: I will be talking about Staff Members a few times. I won’t say their names to ensure they don’t get in trouble for telling me things.

Note 3: I am aware that this is a very long thread. If you want to comment, please base yourself on the whole thread, and read it thoroughly, don't just read one paragraph then give a comment, your comment might be explained later on.

Today I would like to give my opinion on the transparency and clarity in CubeCraft. I think and know that at least some people share my opinion, also staff members, so this didn’t just come out of nowhere.

What do I mean by transparency and clarity?

I mean how CubeCraft keeps everything strictly confidential until it’s released. The only thing they sometimes give is one unclear screenshot so that we know a game is going to come in the next few days. But that’s not what we’re interested in. We want to know what CubeCraft’s priorities are in the long term. If it is new games, fixing bugs or something still completely different.

What’s wrong with the transparency and clarity?

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is kept strictly confidential. If you leak one little thing you’re fired as a staff member. It feels as if you’ve tried to keep a little confidentiality, which I understand, and which is completely fine. But the problem is that you’ve driven it too far. You’ve made everything confidential, which is too much. Staff members have told me that it’s hard for them to get what they need being a staff member because everything is so confidential.

Why is this bad?

Because people don’t know anything about what CubeCraft is focussing on, it’s very hard to write detailed feedback/suggestions about that. You can’t know what they are focussing on, and that’s why you must stay very vague in your feedback. If you’d know something like “We’re going to add a game, then fix some major bugs, then start working on another game again.”, the feedback threads could be a lot more specific. We could tell you guys what WE want you to focus on, in relation to what you’ve told us you’re planning to do.

I hope, and really think, that what the community wants is still the most important to you, even though it sometimes seems to us as if you ignore us. People are starting to draw their own conclusions because of this. It’s time for you to wake up and see that your community starts to doubt if you listen to them. If you don’t start giving us more clarity and transparency you will be losing community members because it sometimes really does feel as if you don’t listen to us. A lot of suggestions about focussing on fixing bugs first are either completely ignored or responded to by a staff member that has predetermined that they will never listen to the suggestion. It’s important to listen to us, community members as we’re the ones who keep you running. Without us you’d be nowhere, so it’s necessary to listen to us with an open mindset and be ready to maybe say we’re right when we are. There’s no harm in admitting that you’re wrong. It makes you seem grownup and mature enough to admit that you make mistakes. It will certainly make me happy if I can see that my favourite server has moved on to a next level and is now ready to admit their mistakes.

What can be done about this?

I got this idea from @KitsuneToru. It is to let CubeCraft do an update on what their priorities are, and what they will be doing in the coming months every few months. 3 or 4 times a year would be great, just to keep the community informed a little bit about what’s happening behind the scenes and to show that you haven’t forgotten about us. We can either see that you start focussing on what we want you to focus on, or we can see that you don’t, and write detailed and specific feedback about that.

A solution that will have to go alongside the other one, is just relaxing a little more. It doesn’t harm you in any way to just tell us “Yes we’re working on a game.”, without mentioning in any way what the game will be about. You can just relax a little more in general, a lot of things you’re very strict about now won’t harm you at all if people know a tiny little bit about it. It would only do you good, as the community would have more trust in that you listen to us, and that is, obviously, a good thing. For example, it's useless that staff can't tell us that they can use a staff chat. It's not a secret that they can, and everyone knows that, but they can't tell. No one is going to get harmed if you tell us small things. Another thing is that your chances of getting accepted as a helper decrease if you tell your friends you have an interview. That's such a stupid rule, and even normal people are forced to have a certain confidentiality, maybe totally out of their will. These are just examples of uncountable things that are unnecessarily made confidential.

A third thing you will need to do, is admit that you sometimes make mistakes as well, as I mentioned earlier. Showing that you have made mistakes isn’t something bad. Learning from those mistakes and now doing something different, is even something good! Keeping repeating the same mistakes because you’re to stubborn to change is however something bad. It is the mistakes which we learn from that make us stronger. No server can be perfect from their first try. The way in which you show that you’re a well-managed server is by admitting your mistakes, moving on and learning from them so you don’t make the same mistakes repeatedly. We as a community try to tell you what you do wrong, but if you’re to stubborn to admit that we’re right, you’ll not be the same quality server as if you do. I really love CubeCraft, and that’s why I give such open critic, but I would appreciate it if it was listened to, it would only make me love the server even more.

Can we end with something positive?

Yes, we can. The community talks are a great step towards more transparency for CubeCraft. But it’s simply not enough. There are some improvements compared to how it used to be, but there need to be more. This is like one bucket of water to extinguish a huge fire.

Thanks for reading my thread, it put quite a lot of time in it. Could you please vote on the poll? I'd like to make a difference with this thread, and for that I need to show that I'm right, and people agree with me. If I'm wrong, and you don't agree with me, could you please vote as well? I would like to know that I misjudged the opinion of the community then.

Hi! I feel like the things you said aren’t fair, since I feel like CubeCraft is listening to the community and does say the things they can.
Of course CubeCraft keeps updates private, because of competition with other minecraft servers. For example CubeCraft released a time ago Among Slimes, which resulted in a growing player-base. If CubeCraft told they were working on implementing Among Slimes, there would have been a chance that other minecraft servers would do the same. (also this has been requested a lot by the community, I’ve seen multiple suggestion threads about it. Which means that they did listen to the community for this update.)
You can’t know what they are focussing on, and that’s why you must stay very vague in your feedback. If you’d know something like “We’re going to add a game, then fix some major bugs, then start working on another game again.”, the feedback threads could be a lot more specific. I could be wrong about this part, but as far as I know CubeCraft has developers with each their own function. There are for example anti-cheat, bugs and updates for the forums developers. They’ve said that they hired new developers to focus on updates for pvp games (duels, ffa, assassinations) & for lucky islands in this thread. Which made it possible for us to know what you can expect in the future. Also they organised a few community talks and keep us up to date on a note website. Right now we know they are busy with an update for skywars, since they have done a community about it past week.

I do think they are already doing this. For example they have told us that they closed the translations applications to work on the application process, that they are focussing on improving sentinel and are working on updates for multiple gamemodes (because of the community talk). We knew why they didn’t accept map submissions recently, since they were planning for a ‘4 weeks of winter’ and a lot more. They can’t tell when they will release new gamemodes, when they will release new updates or other dates of future updates, but they do say what they are working on without telling the specific details.
A third thing you will need to do, is admit that you sometimes make mistakes as well, as I mentioned earlier. Showing that you have made mistakes isn’t something bad.
This feels like a false attack for me, since as far as I know they do admit mistakes. Take for example the beta egg wars update which was a huge mistake. They’ve made this thread within a few hours to say sorry and mention which updates they’ve done to make egg wars better again. Of course it’s good to admit mistakes, but they do as far as I know. Of course I agree when they make mistakes they have to admit their mistakes and say sorry, since that‘s better for the community. However they’ve done this before, which makes this feedback unfair for me.

Obviously they can't tell what games they will be releasing. But they can tell if they will be releasing a game or if they will be doing bug fixes first. The community has been asking for bug fixes for a long time now, but they keep throwing games at us, which is clearly not what a significant part of the community wants.

Don't understand your point here tbh.

Well not even gonna answer this as I literally talk about community talks in my thread.
I do think they are already doing this. For example they have told us that they closed the translations applications to work on the application process, that they are focussing on improving sentinel and are working on updates for multiple gamemodes (because of the community talk).
It's logical that they are fixing Sentinel, and we can see that as Sentinel gets better, which is very good. Yet, we have been asking for bug fixes for so long and it gets ignored. They can tell us "We will fix bugs", can't they? That won't harm them.
They can’t tell when they will release new gamemodes, when they will release new updates or other dates of future updates, but they do say what they are working on without telling the specific details.
They don't. They don't tell us if they're going to work on a new gamemode or on bug fixes. You just tried to tell me my point was wrong by just randomly saying "Nope wrong it's the opposite."
They admit that they have made some mistakes. Yet they don't admit that it's a mistake to not listen to what the community wants. If the community wants bug fixes they should be brave enough to put aside their personal will and do what the community wants instead of just continueing to throw new games at us.

I don't really have a problem with the transparency I like that I don't know what will come I like it being a suprise. Maybe for others this transparency can be a problem so it would be good if a staff member explained why everything within the staff team is kept secret.

It's not just about new games. Obviously what the game will be about must be kept confidential. It's nice to have a surprise for the players, but also important because otherwise servers will copy your ideas. It's just about every single little unnecessary thing is kept confidential. I just added an extra example about 'staff chat' everyone knows it exists, yet if staff tells us they get demoted. How would it harm anyone to know staff chat exists?

Do you know this for sure? I for once, know that after the Tower Defence Community Talk they at least didn't work on it for about a month...
That's another point. After a community talk it often stays quiet for too long. We don't get any updates, and therefore people will think that the community talk has been forgotten. This will only strengthen their belief that staff doesn't listen to the community.

Another thing is that your chances of getting accepted as a helper decrease if you tell your friends you applied.
This is not true, you're free to tell your friends you applied. What is not allowed is telling them you got an interview

But they can tell if they will be releasing a game or if they will be doing bug fixes first.
We can't tell you what we will be working on because it doesn't work like this in the first place. It's not like we make a game, then fix 10 bugs, then make another game. There are game developers working on new games / updates, and there are other developers working on bugs at the same time. Bugs are constantly being fixed, just take a look at #changelogs

I didn't reply to everything because I have to go :y I might post another comment soon

Still doesn’t make sense imo I’ll edit it tho.

Of course one doesn’t completely eliminate the other. But you aren’t going to tell me that they are completely independent. If one gets more work I assume the other one gets a little less. But another big problem with doing both at the same time is that if you release a new game, the big majority of bug fixes in the week(s) after that will be for the new game, while the older bugs in other games get less work.

I've seen that part of your thread, but it's literally unfair of you to ignore the community talks. The community talks are an example about where they do listen to the community. Why should we ignore that, just to make an unfair attack?
It's logical that they are fixing Sentinel, and we can see that as Sentinel gets better, which is very good. Yet, we have been asking for bug fixes for so long and it gets ignored. They can tell us "We will fix bugs", can't they? That won't harm them.
In the last few weeks I've made multiple bug reports and almost all of them got fixed right now. It weren't that huge bugs, but still it were some bugs. So they are working on fixing bugs, which makes this argument also invalid if you ask me.
They admit that they have made some mistakes. Yet they don't admit that it's a mistake to not listen to what the community wants. If the community wants bug fixes they should be brave enough to put aside their personal will and do what the community wants instead of just continueing to throw new games at us.
Why is it a mistake that they do not listen to the community, while they are organising community talks and give their feedback on suggestions. I see a lot of suggestions getting escalated, which means they are considering it for an implementing. Also the community was complaining about the knockback on bedrock, right now they're starting with a testing phase for the knockback.

About the implementing of new games, I think this is one of the best things cubecraft can do right now. After cubecraft started with implementing new gamemodes, the player-base started growing a lot. Which is why I think a part of the developers should focus on implementing new gamemodes.
Do you know this for sure? I for once, know that after the Tower Defence Community Talk they at least didn't work on it for about a month...
Last community talk Younisco said something about why they didn't do thisfar something with the community talk, I could be heavily wrong but I thought because he said that Tower Defence is a very complicated gamemode. Which makes it hard to work on the gamemode.

Also besides the Tower Defence community talk, all community talks have resulted in an update. Which is why I think they do something with the organised community talks, as you can see in the updates.
That's another point. After a community talk it often stays quiet for too long. We don't get any updates, and therefore people will think that the community talk has been forgotten. This will only strengthen their belief that staff doesn't listen to the community.
This part is not true, after a community talk you're still able to see what they are doing. As I already mentioned you can see on a note website for example this one: https://www.notion.so/Damage-Indicators-f7d12a4fa2b94cc8bab8ddb32144e2ed. So you can see what cubecraft is doing after a community talk.

We want to know what CubeCraft’s priorities are in the long term. If it is new games, fixing bugs or something still completely different.
It is understandable that they want to keep things exciting. Teasing with some screenshots is just some sort of marketing; they want you to be curious and excited for what is coming so you're going to check it out. Upon that they want to keep projects secret probably so others won't copy them. Whether they're focussing more on new games or bugs is not your business, you'll see what is coming and if Cubecraft doesn't want to share their plans that's understandable.

You need to keep the following in mind: Cubecraft is one of the biggest minecraft servers. Therefore it is not strange at all that becoming a member of staff on the server comes with some responsibilities, one of them is having to keep some things secret. This is not strange at all, Cubecraft would like to not leak how they manage things for multiple reasons. It's a company, becoming a staff member is not just having a shiny rank and banning rulebreakers.

This just makes no sense to me. Why would you need to know Cubecraft's plans when suggesting something? If you suggest something you'd like to see and Cubecraft likes the idea, they might implement it or parts of it in the next update for that gamemode. There are tons of great suggestions for every gamemode so when Cubecraft is gonna work on an update for a specific gamemode I'm sure they'll check out the suggestions for it. Upon that they even said what the new developers hired this year will be working on. It's not like making suggestions is working for Cubecraft, it's just sharing and discussing your opinion on something with others. If the idea is liked by the community it may be implemented in the future.

I hope, and really think, that what the community wants is still the most important to you, even though it sometimes seems to us as if you ignore us. People are starting to draw their own conclusions because of this. It’s time for you to wake up and see that your community starts to doubt if you listen to them. Of course the community is important to Cubecraft. They are already trying to involve the community more in their decisions by hosting community talks, which is great! Also as I've said before they definitely look at community suggestions when releasing an update for a gamemode. There are also threads like 'give us your SkyWars suggestions' which they will look at regularly. I would have agreed with you on this earlier, but lately I've seen Cubecraft improving a lot on this, they try to listen a lot more to the community then before, which is great!

This could actually be a good idea, I would like to see something like this. However I understand if Cubecraft doesn't want to share such info.

That's such a stupid rule, and even normal people are forced to have a certain confidentiality, maybe totally out of their will. These are just examples of uncountable things that are unnecessarily made confidential.
I don't agree with this either. Of course most people know that there is a staff chat. The reason staff members are not allowed to tell even those small things is that if they tell that there is a staff chat, they might as well tell something else, and something else, and this way they could start to leak things that can't be leaked. It's just better to keep everything quiet so it isn't tempting to tell more than is needed.
Same for the helper interview, they just really don't want you to tell anyone about it if you have been interviewed. If for instance someone got denied after the interview stage and he told his friends that he has had an interview it might go from mouth to mouth that he has had one. This way eventually people might talk to him about it and they might leak confidential info like questions from the interview.
Also you call them 'normal people' which is funny, because they are going to be staff members, or at least want to be. This comes with responsibilities which you are aware of when applying for the position. It is not strange that you have to keep things quiet about it and if you don't that comes with the risk of being denied.

This is my opinion about it. To finish positive as well, merry christmas to you too!

CubeCraft is a business. Think about it like this, do you see Apple hold a press conference every few weeks to say “Yeah we’re thinking about making new iPhones and releasing a new iOS update.”, not they keep you in the dark. We tease things for marketing, and if everyone knew our plans and what we were doing, there would be 0 hype for our new releases.
A third thing you will need to do, is admit that you sometimes make mistakes as well, as I mentioned earlier.
No one from CubeCraft has ever said we’re perfect, we know that sometimes mistakes happen and we always do our best to listen to the community and fix these mistakes as soon as possible.
Staff members have told me that it’s hard for them to get what they need being a staff member because everything is so confidential.
If a staff member needs something, or wants something changed then they can do it internally. We don’t need to make a public thread for staff changes.

Do you know this for sure? I for once, know that after the Tower Defence Community Talk they at least didn't work on it for about a month...
We can’t just drop everything for an update. We need to set up priorities and manage people’s time. I believe you likely know more about an update than me, but we can’t just tell a developer to drop their current project for another. (And they can’t always just work on one thing)
It's just about every single little unnecessary thing is kept confidential.
This is for a good reason. We keep all staff info private because there’s no way to tell how private certain things are.

There are indeed multiple developers.
4 game developers, 3 anti-cheat developers, 2 protocol developers, 2 content developers, 2 library developers, 2 platform engineers & 2 infrastructure engineers. As you can probably guess, not all of us work on games & bug-fixes (some of us not even working that much with Minecraft).
Ben said this on one of my threads yesterday. I wonder where you see who will be doing what?
I've seen that part of your thread, but it's literally unfair of you to ignore the community talks. The community talks are an example about where they do listen to the community. Why should we ignore that, just to make an unfair attack?
Well I didn't ignore the community talks, I ended with them, so that I could end with something positive.
In the last few weeks I've made multiple bug reports and almost all of them got fixed right now. It weren't that huge bugs, but still it were some bugs. So they are working on fixing bugs, which makes this argument also invalid if you ask me.
Bugs you have repored in the last few weeks, that means multiple (!) weeks have almost (so not all) all been fixed. That is one point, it takes too long. Bug fixes need to go faster, I know that this is partially because only Keanu and Marieke do bug reports.
Why is it a mistake that they do not listen to the community, while they are organising community talks and give their feedback on suggestions.
Just stop about those community talks please. I've made clear enough now that they're a step in the good direction, but as I mentioned a few times now not enough.
I see a lot of suggestions getting escalated, which means they are considering it for an implementing.
Quite some suggestions get escalated, but 90% of them don't get used afterwards or at least stay untouched for multiple months. I made a suggestion about keeping the escalated threads updated this morning but apparently the community doesn't want to know what's going on with their suggestions nor does staff see that it is a good thing to show the community that something is happening 🤷‍♂️
Also the community was complaining about the knockback on bedrock, right now they're starting with a testing phase for the knockback.
The community was complaining about the knockback months ago. They held a community talk after which nothing happened and no clear updates on what was going on were given, until they once again threw something at us. That's the problem, we need to know what's going on.
About the implementing of new games, I think this is one of the best things cubecraft can do right now. After cubecraft started with implementing new gamemodes, the player-base started growing a lot. Which is why I think a part of the developers should focus on implementing new gamemodes.
I'm fine with working on games, but it is absolutely necessary to focus on bugs as well. You can't have games that are full of bugs, that's no fun either. I'll give you my prediction: For some time the community will continue growing because of the new games. After a few months they will realize that there are an excessive amount of bugs, and the community will be getting smaller once again. This is not a sustainable situation.
Last community talk Younisco said something about why they didn't do thisfar something with the community talk, I could be heavily wrong but I thought because he said that Tower Defence is a very complicated gamemode. Which makes it hard to work on the gamemode.
They could have told us that. Not saying anything, regardless if it is because you can't implement updates yet, or because you have forgotten is not what we want. If you can't implement updates yet, tell us that, don't just stay silent for months.
Also besides the Tower Defence community talk, all community talks have resulted in an update. Which is why I think they do something with the organised community talks, as you can see in the updates.
Oh we forgot about the SkyWars community talk now did we?
This part is not true, after a community talk you're still able to see what they are doing. As I already mentioned you can see on a note website for example this one: https://www.notion.so/Damage-Indicators-f7d12a4fa2b94cc8bab8ddb32144e2ed. So you can see what cubecraft is doing after a community talk.
We need more info!

Whether they're focussing more on new games or bugs is not your business, you'll see what is coming and if Cubecraft doesn't want to share their plans that's understandable.
Completely and absolutely WRONG. We as the community are what supports cubecraft, without us they wouldn't be anything. We must agree with what CubeCraft is planning to do, as if we don't we might leave. It is very much our business, as we play on the server. Without our support the server is nothing and if we don't agree with what they plan to do that is very much our business and it's extremely important for them to keep us satisfied.
For sure some thing must be kept secret, but this goes to far. I'm sorry but if staff members complain about that it's so hard for them to get what they need for their job, because of all the confidential things, that's a very clear sign that something is going wrong.
How are we supposed to make suggestions/feedback about how CubeCraft is working and being managed though and about what their priorities are? We don't know that, so unless you have a crystal ball you can't make detailed suggestion about that, can you? I clearly mentioned in the part you quoted that I was talking about how cubecraft is working, not about 'Plz fix lights out in among slimes map mars k ty very cool'.
Please, please everyone STOP about those community talks. I've clearly mentioned in my thread and in my previous comments that the community talks are a step in the good direction, but not enough. Again IN the part you quoted I mentioned the numerous threads asking to fix bugs first, and then implementing new games. I don't hear anyone about that though?
This could actually be a good idea, I would like to see something like this. However I understand if Cubecraft doesn't want to share such info.
CubeCraft has no choice but to share it. If they don't people will soon be leaving, watch my word.
I would hope that staff is mature enough to know what they can tell and what they can't. It's kind of obvious that you can't say "Oh yes we'll be releasing this and this game." All staff is at least 14+ and most are older, so if they don't even know that, I don't think cube would want them as a staff member anyways.
What does it matter though if people know the questions? It's not like an improvisation test I assume? On a job interview for any other job, you also know what type of questions to expect most of the time right?
Also you call them 'normal people' which is funny, because they are going to be staff members, or at least want to be. This comes with responsibilities which you are aware of when applying for the position. It is not strange that you have to keep things quiet about it and if you don't that comes with the risk of being denied.
Still, until they've been accepted as a staff member they are still regular members.
This is my opinion about it. To finish positive as well, merry christmas to you too!
Merry Christmas to you too <3

CubeCraft is a business. Think about it like this, do you see Apple hold a press conference every few weeks to say “Yeah we’re thinking about making new iPhones and releasing a new iOS update.”, not they keep you in the dark. We tease things for marketing, and if everyone knew our plans and what we were doing, there would be 0 hype for our new releases.
I'm not talking about "We're gonna release this and this game then and then." Just to know about the long term priorities of cubecraft. If they will focus more on getting new members and throwing new games, or at keeping their existing members and releasing bug fixes before moving on to getting new members. I have given a solution which would be announcing their long term priorities 3/4 times a year, which would not be every few weeks.
No one from CubeCraft has ever said we’re perfect, we know that sometimes mistakes happen and we always do our best to listen to the community and fix these mistakes as soon as possible.
It just seems as if a lot of staff members are not open to critic on how cubecraft is working, and will never agree with you that cube could have done something in a better way.
If a staff member needs something, or wants something changed then they can do it internally. We don’t need to make a public thread for staff changes.
Well they have told me that 'They had difficulty with getting what they needed' because of everything being confidential. I wasn't talking about changing things, just about how they needed something for their job and that was very hard.
We can’t just drop everything for an update. We need to set up priorities and manage people’s time. I believe you likely know more about an update than me, but we can’t just tell a developer to drop their current project for another. (And they can’t always just work on one thing)
Tell us that then. Don't be quiet to us.
This is for a good reason. We keep all staff info private because there’s no way to tell how private certain things are.
Of course you can keep the big things confidential, but there's no need to drive it this far. There are thing that need to be kept private, but there are also things that you can just tell and no one will be harmed.

I haven't seen staff members complaining about this. Of course it is a big responsibility to not tell anything and sure it can be hard sometimes, but it is part of the job of a staff member. If they can't keep things for themselves they are apparently not qualified for the job.

How are we supposed to make suggestions/feedback about how CubeCraft is working and being managed though and about what their priorities are? True but as I mentioned I don't think Cubecraft wants us to know that for multiple reasons. Also I think a team of experienced developers who work on this everyday know enough to make everything go well behind the scenes. I don't think any community member would come up with a groundbreaking suggestion for how to manage the server better.

Please, please everyone STOP about those community talks. I've clearly mentioned in my thread and in my previous comments that the community talks are a step in the good direction, but not enough. Yes the community talks are great but maybe not enough. If you've got some other suggestions for how they could listen to the community even better you're free to suggest them! Of course there are a lot of bugs but as has been said a lot before Cubecraft hasn't got the time and power to fix every single bug. Making and improving games is more important to attract more players to the server than fixing small (but sometimes annoying) bugs.

CubeCraft has no choice but to share it. If they don't people will soon be leaving, watch my word.
I very much don't think so but we will see.

True, maybe you could see keeping the interview private as a test to see if the applicant can keep himself quiet about confidential information? If they can't keep having an interview quiet then they might leak other information as well if they become a staff member eventually.

I have always talked on clarity and given this example. Look at Star Wars battlefront 2 and what they did with their community. They made roadmaps to outline what was coming in the future, for large updates they made community transmissions to talk about it, they would do teasers and also have open discussion so if issues are found with the update changes could be made. They were open but it was just as fun having some idea what is coming then being disappointed by something random.

Because they keep the community statisfied by doing what the community wants. That's why the community needs to know what will be focussed on so they can tell it soon enough if they don't like something.
I haven't seen staff members complaining about this. Of course it is a big responsibility to not tell anything and sure it can be hard sometimes, but it is part of the job of a staff member. If they can't keep things for themselves they are apparently not qualified for the job.
Exactly, and as CubeCraft needs to get good staff, they shouldn't have to keep everything confidential. If they have this attittude towards their staff members it shows that they have no trust in them.

You don't think and that's where it all goes wrong. Sometimes there may not be any groundbreaking suggestions indeed, but only one is needed to maybe improve cube a lot. As the legendary @Ge1ster said yesterday (don't remember why): "It takes one epiphany to start a legacy."

I very much don't think so but we will see.
Time will tell. But if we see it, it will be too late and cube will once again sink into a great loss of players.
True, maybe you could see keeping the interview private as a test to see if the applicant can keep himself quiet about confidential information? If they can't keep having an interview quiet then they might leak other information as well if they become a staff member eventually.
If they have been accepted they can be asked to keep the questions private, which could indeed be a test, but if they're rejected it doesn't matter, so telling friends about it wouldn't matter at all, it would only form a test to see if they can keep things confidential.

What has this to do with 'having trust in their staff members'? There is just some information that can't be shared, it's not like cube wants to annoy her staff members with prohibiting them from telling anything.

I personally think they do a great job so there is no need to get imput about internal cases from community members. For the small chance of getting an amazing suggestion they are never going to give away their private information.

If something has been suggested numerous times (like fixing bugs first before focussing on new games) it is clear that the community wants that. Then CubeCraft should listen to that.
That's because that is the problem we have now. If Cubecraft would never release updates and only be fixing bugs instead everyone will be complaining of the games never being updated. As I said they don't have enough people to fix every single bug, so they have to make sacrifises to create the big amount of content they currently do. Look at games that never recieve updates, assassinations for instance. I see a lot of players complaining about the game not getting updates. That scares away players a lot more than having a few small bugs.

If they have been accepted they can be asked to keep the questions private, which could indeed be a test, but if they're rejected it doesn't matter, so telling friends about it wouldn't matter at all, it would only form a test to see if they can keep things confidential.
So if you're denied after the interview you'd be free to tell the questions to your friends? I don't understand your logic here.

You said that if they'd say one thing they'd say more things. That's totally not a necessary thing, and it shows a lack of trust in staff members.
I personally think they do a great job so there is no need to get imput about internal cases from community members. For the small chance of getting an amazing suggestion they are never going to give away their private information.
Once again, not every single detail, but just the outlines of what they want to do.

We're not talking about 'a few small bugs' though.

Why not? What harm would it do?

Ben said this on one of my threads yesterday. I wonder where you see who will be doing what?
Everyone knows about the CubeCraft developers, not only Ben. If I use something from someone else I would give them credits. So I did this with my own knownledge. :)
Bugs you have repored in the last few weeks, that means multiple (!) weeks have almost (so not all) all been fixed. That is one point, it takes too long. Bug fixes need to go faster, I know that this is partially because only Keanu and Marieke do bug reports.
CubeCraft is handling the bug reports really fast, since all of them get handled most of the time within 2 days. Fixing the bugs isn't as easy as you think from what I see how you're writing about it.
As already said a lot of times each developers has their own function and are working on their own stuff. So they are working on for example the bugs.
The community was complaining about the knockback months ago. They held a community talk after which nothing happened and no clear updates on what was going on were given, until they once again threw something at us. That's the problem, we need to know what's going on.
After a community talk they can't just update, since a lot of needs to happen. Also please read my whole text, since I have mentioned the public notes 2 times before. You can see what's going on after a community talk, as I said multiple times.
Oh we forgot about the SkyWars community talk now did we?
If you read what I said I was talking about all community talks. You think cubecraft can release a skywars update within 5 days of a community talk? There is a lot of work to do, so it's for sure it takes a lot of time.
We need more info!
It's enough info, since they are telling what they're working on.

I'll stop with answering on this suggestion, since I've made my point and I feel like this 'discussion' is repeating.
