Hello people on Cubecraft! Today I'd like to suggest a new rule, which would make tricking other players into breaking the rules punishable.

I believe such rule is needed because some people are doing this in order to farm infinite reports and get innocent players punished (as it's more likely that not that they wouldn't have broken the rules if they hadn't been tricked into it). One such example can be found in this image:

unknown.png

What you can see is a player asking "Is anyone here Dream", which is obviously an attempt to trick someone into saying "im dream" so that they can report them (or so that someone breaks the rules, at the very least). If that player really wanted to know whether Dream was there, they could've pressed TAB and searched for his username, which they hadn't, since they had sent that message in chat. Another thing to point out is that they had also sent another message - "No reports, sad", which is without doubt proof that they didn't care about Dream being there and only wanted to trick someone into breaking the rules.

Such behaviour shouldn't be tolerated, as it only leads to players who would normally not break the rules break them and get punished. In the scenario above, it wouldn't be hard to imagine how a much less experienced player could've thought that it'd be funny to reply "im dream" as a joke, without intending to break the rules, would it?

Of course, all players should know the rules and not fall for such tricks (as the players in the image did), but some are just not as experienced and can easily become victims to people abusing this type of tricks, which is definitely not okay.

But how do you feel about this? Please share your opinion!

Hey there,

I agree it should get a new rule. I saw the question itself happening in the staff-help channel and was actually disappointed to see that was allowed. That they are trying to trick the player to say, ''yes I'm dream'' and report them for impersonating is not really fair...

You got my agree!

This is such a toxic thing to do to people and definitely should be punishable.
also i dont think sending an example and calling someone directly out for it was necesary

Of course it was necessary in order to prevent people from saying "but this whole tricking thing never happens, it's not a big problem", which I am 99% sure would get my suggestion instantly denied :D

Im totally agree with it.

Thats a very ugly way to get reports, I tried to explain the staffs whats was wrong there, but they said it was allowed
I hope this suggestion can be implemented and then see those players get their receive their respective punishment.
You have to be very evil to do that...

I don't believe we should be talking about the individual player but the act as a whole. i don't think we need to call out 1 person for this publicly on the forums

You've got a point there, I changed the image, though now people could argue it is fake evidence. But I guess people who want to will always find what to argue about.

Hey iTBD!
I think your suggestion is very interesting, I personally never came in contact with such behaviour, but I can definitely imagine this happening. Tricking people for reports is in my opinion a step too far as well, and I think this makes the tricker a lot more at fault than the one that gets set up. This should be changed in the rules asap.

You've got my :agree:. Have a good rest of your day!

But trolling is not just a troll or you being a jerk, it's an art and it should stay like that. Sure it's unfunny for the victim but like, nobody really cares about the victim and it's really just for laughs. (and imo tricking people into breaking rules is pretty funny).

Of course Cubecraft cares about the victims! They are a part of the playerbase, after all, and without this playerbase Cubecraft wouldn't be where it is today. I agree that trolling is an art, but using it against random players to just farm reports is simply not okay and should become punishable, as otherwise people will keep doing it. How would you feel if you got tricked by someone and then got muted/banned without even realising what you did wrong? Not very good, I'd imagine. And if you think that making other players suffer just for personal gain is "pretty funny", then that's great for you. But almost everyone else thinks otherwise :D

If you knew anything about CubeCraft is they only prioritize profits and they don't care about their players that much. They just kept lying to their players made up stuff and act like they're either a victim or act like they did nothing wrong.

CubeCraft team just don't really care about their players that much. They only care about the money they earn. If they actually ever cared about their players and planning to make the server better for everyone, they would've fixed several very known bugs that they're aware of instead of just waiting till there's 1,000+ people reporting those bugs.

In reality they knew what is up with the server, they knew what they're doing from the start. Yet, they just don't care. They kept adding more stuff that makes the game unfair for mobile, console and pc players, kept making changes that break the game and acknowledge about those issues and bugs and just don't want to fix them until they get enough reports. They say something like "the bug is not a priority bug to fix" when in reality they can fix the bug but they're just too lazy to do so.

The thing is, CubeCraft don't really care about their playerbase that much. They only want more players to play their server even if it means they had to make the server unenjoyable and unplayable. Because to them, better number = better person. In reality, they're not being better everyday, they're actually being worse everyday. They kept lying to their playerbase, fake some bug fixes in #changelog in their discord server and act like they're the innocent.

Wtf? This is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen this week. “In my opinion they shouldn’t punish for cheating because installing Sigma client is an art and it’s very funny”

installing a hack client is not trolling. Trolling is when you harrass people, make people mad, bully people and when you ruin a whole server or someone's life.

And yes hacking is also an art.. Only on 2b2t unfortunately...
