You cant make those knockback combos with a trident. Also, shields will be a new meta in 1.13 because of 100% nullification of damage. Tridents arent as OP as you think.

edit: before anyone mentions EP's, It's not like theres a tool that gives you a tp every ~0.6 seconds for just 5 iron

you've got to remember that for things like OP it could potentially have sharp 2 or 5 or even 6 if they want to make it an emerald weapon for the team map Under de sea which i personally think would be the best option! i mean come on replacing the diamond sword with the trident for that map would be remarkable!

Its like a 20 diamond weapon why 64. We also need to discuss use of RIPTIDE

If you were to add riptide there would have to be a random chance of rain during a game. This needs to be one value for the enitre game; if it rains, it should stay raining, thus making the trident's Riptide not completely pointless.

Also, how about adding a Lapis generator and an enchantments villager (or you could get enchantments for dia, lapis makes more sense)

And if the trident fell in the void you cant recuperate them with loyality

20 diamonds for a normal trident
64 diamonds for a trident with impaling the enchanting lvl depending the vote options

Tridents have the power of a diamond axe with a slightly faster cooldown. The cooldown isnt fast enough for you to your combos either to the same extent as swords.

Riptude enchantment is really strong. I suggest that they add something called a “waterlogged fence” into the eggwars shop. If broken the water disappears along with it. The water doesnt flow either.

You could use this to take advantage of riptide in a balanced manner.

Trident - 16 diamonds
Riptide 2 - 30diamonds
Riptide 3 - 40
Loyalty 3 - 25 diamonds

It already does nine attack damage. That's +2 more than the best sword in the game. That doesn't need any more upgrading.

But the trident has a lower cooldown and can also be thrown (which is pretty useless but still). If it was an emerald item then you would have to decide whether to spend 20 diamonds on an axe or some emeralds on a trident with same attack damage but lower cooldown. That would be great.
