Why are there so many pocket edition players?

Xbox and PlayStation controllers and Bluetooth keyboards have been usable with all platforms on Bedrock since the Better Together update, I believe.

I mean if you spend enough time you can combo controller and pc players on mobile (just like i do to ender since he uses controller)
