Maybe, but this is how I think:
You can get full diamond armor, which is better than full iron armor.
You can't get a better sword than sharp 2 iron, unless you are very lucky enchanting a diamond sword or combine multiple sharp 2 iron swords.

And if you kill your enemy quicker there is less chance his items will fall of the edge^^

Well they are in a cave when I first attack, and that or my first chest gives me a good weapon xD but maps like jungle the islands are so small and the game goes so quick I don't really care about their loot xD
