I am incredibly disappointed and saddened by this turn of events. This is another unfortunate example of miscommunication and mishandling regarding this situation. I do not support this change, but I also ask for everyone to please keep discord and forums drama free, and not cause the staff team any problems. We have the right to share our opinions and frustration, but we also must abide by the rules.

I've left a long time ago, but it still saddens me to see something we all worked very hard for disappear. Thank you everyone for the time I got to spend with you there, it was definitely one of the best chapters of my life. Know that I've always appreciated your work and insane dedication and that I really hope to still see you around. Stay amazing!

Good luck with this new system admins, curious what benefits this could actually bring to your network!

Hai CubeCrafters!
We are excited to announce our future goals and process for getting our server translated into more languages and becoming accessible to more people!

šŸ«‚ Community Driven

We are going to be merging our current Translation Team with the entirety of the community!
After a lot of thought and looking into how the current recruitment process and growth of the team/languages has gone, we have found it to be rather difficult for people to join in on the project. We are changing this to make the whole translation project more open to everyone and easier for you all to contribute to.

When will this be happening?
We are excited to welcome you all onto the project. However, we will be putting a brief pause on the translation project so that we can ensure everything is ready to start welcoming you all onto the project! Once things are ready, we will announce it to you all and get the ball rolling! Keep your eyes peeled for that update.

šŸŒŽ Future of the Team

With these changes, we will be altering the way that recruitment for the translation project works. From now on, users do not need to apply to become a part of the translation project. Instead, you simply need to create an account on Weblate and start translating for your language!

What does this mean for the current team?
  • We will unfortunately be closing down the translation team as it is currently known. This means we will no longer have the Translator/SrTranslator ranks, as anyone can be a part of the team.
  • We will have applications for proofreaders, which will be handled through the forums, and will still have minimum requirements.
  • The Translation Team Discord will be closed, however, we will be opening a place on our official Discord where you all can discuss the projects or work with others at the same time.
  • All currently translated strings, that have been approved, will be pushed onto the network to ensure our translations there are up to date.
  • We will be putting a small pause on future translations until we have everything ready for you all to join in.

Keep in mind:
  • We will still be monitoring all translations.
  • If you suggest translations to be things that break our rules or are trolling, your Weblate account will be suspended.

View attachment 210623 What is Weblate?

This is the site we utilize to allow you guys to translate the strings on our server into your language!
It allows you all to see the progress that your specific language has made in translating the strings on our server, as well as individual projects' translation progress.

šŸ“œ Additional Information

Once the ball starts rolling in terms of making this project public, a few things will be happening in a specific way to ensure the growth of our proofreading team, as well as the languages we translate on the server.

These changes are as follows:
- Proofreader applications
We are still going to have proofreaders who can check the strings that have been approved or completed for consistency. To become a proofreader, please read our thread on how to join in on the translation project.

- Adding a language
Speak a language that is not yet available or started on Weblate/our server? Create a suggestion for it and if it gets enough support from others who speak the language, we will be happy to add it! We are constantly looking to increase the number of languages our server is available to in order to broaden the accessibility.

šŸ’™ Special Thanks

We wanted to thank our Translation Team for everything they have done to get the translations to the point they are at now! Each individual has contributed so much and allowed us to make our server available to Non-English speaking users. We are beyond proud of the achievements that you as a team have made and accomplished each step of the way! Seeing the content on our servers and even our rules become available to more languages has been an amazing sight. It is all thanks to you all!

While we may be saying goodbye to the team aspect, we are not concluding our continued efforts of making the content on our server available to more Non-English users all over the world. We are excited to welcome more community members to this project and continue with our translation project!
Honestly, simply merging the translation team into the community is an absolute error, all those people who have put a lot of time and effort into it will feel really disappointed. There should still be a translation team to review the translations as anyone could troll, even though if the community helps translating the network. This isn't the right way to treat those people who work for you guys, even more if they are doing it for free, just saying.

I will be honest on my feelings about this decision on my response with staying respectful.

I enrolled in the TT two years ago, I was really happy to join and excited to translate for the network, everyone was so active and awesome there, it was a lot of fun and nothing will change the wholesome memories I got at this time. We got few revamps but most of them was basically some good ones and was trully improving our quality of work and our motivation to translate.

Sadly, some change, in my opinion, made the team getting slowly less motivated to work for the network and few og members left, we got inactive due to the lack of entertainment we were having inside our own team. Some change we got in this "revamp" were good and made all of us feel more integrated in the cubecraft family but our first family is and will always be the Translation Team.

I won't debate this decision much since I disagree with it from the start to the end of it. It's in my opinion unfair regarding all the person who worked hard in the team and regarding the work made by the team.
My true emotions I got when I learnt about that thing is sadness and frustration.
I really feel like I'm losing a precious part of me, I'm not gonna lie i was sad at the point of crying cause of that especially after all the thing it implies, seeing a strong and close community with over 200 people getting removed is not something easy to accept and I will never accept it.

I wish luck with their new system and it will in my own opinion show the weak point of this new system.

I love yall ex-members of the OG Translation Team ā™„ļø Hope to see you around on discord or anywhere else!

If you suggest translations to be things that break our rules or are trolling, your Weblate account will be suspended.

I don't see the point of this new system, people are going to create countless accounts to troll and put nonsense. All the time that we used to have to verify and improve the translations of the translators will have to be invested in hundreds people who will dedicate to post nonsense/troll.

In summary: the prs will have to spend their time verifying and reporting nonsense of hundreds people instead of proofreading their strings. It doesn't seem very efficient.

Keep the hard work admins šŸ‘šŸ‘ and delete the whole server because no one is playing it anymore.
Plus, if u want to copy from other servers then copy how they treat their members. You could have tried to discuss the issues with us and we already gave you a lot of suggestions to help the team but out of nowhere and after ignoring us for months u chose to do that. "Professionals"
Elenahh building a team from zero and makes it unique --> some admins destroying everything and copying from other servers.

I feel like this is going to be like the Big Change but for the translation team.
The Big Change was something they did for Cubecraft to not shut down. They sacrificed something and it was a smart decision that benefitted them in the end

This is just nothing but poor management, miscommunication, lack of care and incompetency on the admins' side. They handled this unbelievably bad. They didn't just lose their translation team, but also tons of dedicated community members that were solely there for the purpose of making Cubecraft better.

First of all I wanted to thank the Team for giving me the opportunity to be in the wonderful TT, it has been a very nice experience but I don't agree with eliminating it, it is not fair for the people who have put a lot of effort in the translation, it is also very unfair for the proofreaders, from one moment to another you have put a big responsibility on them. Do you really think this system will work?

I also want to thank the translators, you are wonderful people and it has been a pleasure to translate with you, I am very proud of all of you because you have done an incredible job that unfortunately has not been appreciated, I know this is very difficult for some of us because there is no logical explanation for everything that is happening.

I hope that what is happening is worth it but I don't think so because TT has been a fundamental part of the smooth running of the server and has opened up opportunities for people who don't speak English to play on the server.

I wish the Team well

I'm going to miss the translators, I love y'all guysšŸ§”

Maybe a bit of a dumb question, but do chat prefixes exist on Cubecraft Java like they do on Bedrock?
