Players with high CPS will have a BIG advatage, and that is unfair. Mobile players won´t have any change to win. I disagree. When someone combo me, I am "flying" in the air, while enemy is hitting me, and I can´t do anything. And then I am dead. This will lure players to use auto clickers, double clicks, or anything else related to this. Actual knockback system is fair for everyone. I like CubeCraft, because of knockback. And I think that more players are playing on CubeCraft than on The Hive only because of knockback. I will have no server to play on, if knockback will change on CubeCraft. Players who agree with the new knockback are people who can reach a lot of CPS, and they just want to combo everyone, and don´t give a chance to poor mobile players. The Hive is for tryharders (in PvP minigames), I see it, when I play there (The Hive have very similar knockback as CubeCraft new knockback). CubeCraft community is better, because all players have a chance to win with the actual knockback system without combos.
- All this is only MY OPINION!
Yay, an actual skill gap between nons and semi-competent players. Let’s be honest, the people that don’t like consistent kb are players who tap their screen before crying themselves to sleep over not being able to win block game. If you don’t like the step in the right direction, I’m sorry that you don’t appreciate the work gone into this. The KB won’t necessarily turn into the pvp on ectary, but it will certainly be more consistent and even between each player. Good work devs, keep it up!
I don't really like the update because it feels to similar to the hive PvP and the PvP is one of the main reasons why I play cubecraft over the hive. It's pretty mutch impossible for mobile players to combo and it's really hard for controller players to combo and it's really easy for pc players to get combos also a reason why I prefer the old knockback because it was more balanced between controller mobile and pc players and weather or not this was intended this kB update kinda gives pc players a advantage
Honestly this new knockback isnt so good. It makes 2v1s much harder to win and it benefits the mouse and keyboard players too much over the controller and touchpad players. Testing it in solos wont show how hard it will become in situations where you are outnumbered. These knockback changes could ruin team modes.
I mean, the second that the server decides to intentionally try and level the playing field thats where I switch to java. Thats kind of what they tried to do in the java 1.9 combat update and obviously that was a mess
Okay my opinion. It just creates a massive skill gap between mobile and pc players. I have got so many people into combos they just can not escape. I have not really been in a combo I am not able to escape from. As a pc player I think Bedrock should have an equal amount of difficulty when fighting since this is what cross platform is made for. I love the consistency of it, however I think it all needs to be reduced.
In my opinion, this Knockback would be good in a new sky wars style minigame, but replacing the old Skywars Knockback with this new one, is much more advantageous for players who don't know how to reach anyone. so you can have killed almost everyone, and when you will kill the last one you can die because of the Knockback totally different than normal minecraft. In My Opinion I didn't like it
I like the fact that knockback is being improved but I don’t like how it was done. Removing crits and sprints break every hit are some of the things I disagree with, and I’d rather do 3 blocks KB per hit after sprints (like Java 1.8) rather than sending people high up in the air every hit. It also makes hit trades harder to win which I dislike. The only good thing about it is the knockback is consistent
Today, we're super excited to introduce to you our first edition of the Knockback test! We've been working pretty hard to get this rolling - we've mentioned in our community talk about Bedrock that we're wanting to involve you guys with these tests before implementing to our entire network. Once we have enough feedback, we'll be pushing these changes to our network, but we need a lot of feedback from everyone to make sure this knockback is as good as it can be!
Knockback Test Version 1: 23/12/2020
First iteration.
Made knockback more consistent - large deviation from the current knockback.
Increased horizontal and vertical velocity from the current 1.9 knockback configuration.
Here's a few videos, before and after, of a fight happening on Bedrock.
Before!
We've noticed that knockback is very stagnant - you take knockback inconsistently, double and triple hits happen randomly when you try and crit, and you're overall not able to predict where people will be after you hit. This made PvP'ing not enjoyable at all.
After!
Consistent knockback? Combos? On CubeCraft?! WHAT IS THIS BLASPHEMY?
This experimental knockback is only available in the Beta Games lobby, and you're only able to play Solo SkyWars. Statistics do not count, and there is no leaderboard. The only maps open now are Wiring,Ping Pong and Circuit. The purpose of this game is only for testing knockback, and not grinding.
Once you've played a few games, please vote on the poll on this thread! We'll use this to help us determine whether or not the knockback has improved! If you still find issues, please respond to this thread! We'll update this thread if we go through any changes in the changelog section!
Thanks everyone! Hope you enjoy, and we look forward to reading your feedback! Hav
I don’t think I can describe in words how much frustration the old knockback was. I’ve played a bunch of games and have to say this is amazing. I can actually combo and there’s none of that inconsistent 1.9 garbage I would absolutely love to see this uploaded to all games ASAP because it’s perfect imo.
THIS KB IS IN FAVOUR OF PC PLAYERS AND MAKES IT REALLY HARD FOR CONTROLLER AND MOBILE PLAYERS TO WIN FIGHTS THIS KB WILL ALSO MAKE GIT TRADE FIGHTS HARDER TO WIN AND THIS KB WILL MORE THAN LIKELY RUIN TEAM MODES
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it will be IMPOSSABLE to play teams modes. I grind skywars teams of 4s, and am always 4v1ing. if this is added Theres no way ill be able to land hits on lots of people at once. I also rely on high kb for hitting poeple into the void.
I understand that the solo players like this, because they are always 1v1ing.
NOT TO MENTION THIS RUINS MOBILE PLAYERS.
In my opinion the only people that benefit from this are solo pc players.
Here is the difference for mobile players.
I am sure that this is not the best example, but can you see that combo at 0:14 - 0:19
Please, we should respect mobile players. You may like these combos, but that is only because you are computer player. This KB system is big advantage for keyboard and mouse players, because of combos.
I am going to complain about this as much as I can.
Personally, I don't like it - feels way too much like Hive to me. Pvp is the main reason I play Cubecraft more than Hive, since I prefer vanilla pvp. But if Cube's pvp becomes like the Hive then... idk.
If you're gonna change it, just make it less randomized. You don't have to completely redo it
After playing like 8 games of this, i completely agree with this statement, personally its really iffy, some people like me find this to be actually less competitive, there's less factors for error and success which really doesnt seem right. i play cube competitively on bedrock (mostly on controller, sometimes on keyboard) and ive had no issues with the pvp, and we want pvp to be less ping based, this actually seems to be more ping based the way it is implimented, It is good, dont get me wrong, i just think it needs more improvement, and the removal of critical hits in my opinion is a mistake. a big mistake for competitive play
Vertical knockback. I personally am not the biggest fan of vertical knockback since vanilla combat (1.8 and bedrock) does not really have it. I don't hate the new system for having high vertical kb, but I would like to see a version which tones it down a bit. I would rather have more horizontal combos than vertical ones.
Actually the vertical knockback is what allows the combos. When a player is knocked into the air, they are unable to resist the velocity applied. We tried it with less vertical and more horizontal and found it basically made everything worse in most situations.
Crits. Are they gone? What's the deal with them?
Regardless of those opinions, I do find the new combat a bit clunky, and don't think it is quite ready to be expanded to all games quite yet.
Can you explain to me what is different exactly? Critical damage hits should occur if that's what you mean. Though there's a chance it got broken in the process.

In my opinion the only people that benefit from this are solo pc players.
I completely agree with your statements hear I whilst I don't grind a game that forces me to fight multiple people at once but in the moments that I do end up fighting multiple people at once I rely on the kinda weird kB to knock people into the void also when I grind I play with one of my friends who is a mobile player and with his experiences with the kB test he is just getting flung around like a ping pong ball by pc players most of the time
It is awful! I love how PvP looks now on CubeCraft and that's the reason I only play on CubeCraft server. This new knockback mode advantages USA players because of higher ping (or in general high pingers, like me in this busy time where my condominium is full of people and latency and connection suck). Please don't do it and stick with the old mode!
