DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a suggestion. The purpose of this thread is to convince the protectionlovers to agree with a nerf.
I posted this in media because if you post it in Eggwars or Everything Else, threads in that subforum don't pop up on ''recent threads'' and I want all of you losers who think the protection is good to see this.
Well, let's begin.

Yep, that's me, OhTheSalt. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.
This pic was taken 0.0001 seconds before the total obliteration of purple.
Let me explain.
It's this obnoxious thing called ''spawn protection''. The source of all bad, unfair and cheapest losses & deaths.
Now now stop typing comments like ''just build yourself in'' because building yourself in isn't always possible.
Let's back this up with a few scenarios which actually happened to me
Scenario #1 (this is making me cry already)
You're playing on the map "Western" (OP - normal) You have no egg left yet you're doing very well and you just eliminated pink. The only thing left between you and your win is the orange team. You see the orange team has semi-good gear, so you grab yourself some diamonds from mid and buy a full iron set and an extra chain set, some obsidian to block yourself in, normal blocks and more stuff. You Hi-build towards orange but they spotted you. You almost get shot off by the spammers but you land on the bridge below you and without hesitation you run towards the egg. You try to block yourself in but the entire team is already trying to kill your ass, thus blocking you in is really hard to impossible to do. You killed 2 of the stronger guys, nice, BUT WAIT, they come at you and keep fisting but you can't kill them!? Must be that stupid spawnprotection. You killed the entire team and now they're all naked, trying to fist you to death. You have to be really careful as the egg is somewhat close to the edge and they have like 3 layers of an obsidian pyramid. Damn, would've been easier if it was a cube. They already fisted through your iron set so you move on to your extra chain set while you desperately try to destroy their egg. But it keeps happening. You kill everyone but they keep coming back one after another. Outlook isn't looking well. Chain armor is almost broken too, and they get smarter because they keep buying diamond pickaxes. They got you out of your hole again, being very close to the edge. Your entire food bar is empty so you're taking starvation damage. You try to eat but they've fisted you too close to the edge and with that, it was over. Orange won the game by abusing the power of spawnprotection yet again.
Scenario #2
You're playing on the map ''Space'' (OP - normal) with your friends. It's a classic Red vs. Yellow, as Yellow Always seems to be the final standing team. The 3 of you have full iron & everything but a decent pickaxe. Yellow team still has leather but to not risk anything (they had a bow we tested it), you all throw an ender pearl. This one shouldn't be too hard because it's only 1 layer of obsidian so a blocking layer of sandstone should do. Your friends kill all of Yellow but Yellow doesn't give up so easily. They keep mining you out even though you had a layer of sandstone and friends trying their best to keep them away from you. They mined all the sandstone away and since you were on the other side of Yellow's spawn, they kept fisting you towards the edge. And because of the abusive spawnprotection, we all got fisted off.
We didn't lose, however we were really, REALLY pissed though.
You see where I'm getting at? Look, I'm not saying it should be completely removed, I'm just saying it needs a NERF. And blocking yourself in isn't really a problem when it's a 2-3 player team, but if it's a team of 4+ it's definitely a pain if they all keep coming back.
Moving on.
Scenario #3
You're playing on the map "Oriental". This time you're alone without an egg. You carefully build towards Grey. You're almost there but of course, a ghosting member spots you and immediatly tells the entire team to camp at the egg (Damn I hate people who ghost). You still have leather gear but you have a decent pickaxe (eff 4) so it should be alright because it's just 1 layer of obsidian yet again. You eliminate all of Grey but Grey is a smart team so 1 of them keeps buying pickaxes and wooden swords as the iron gens are very close to spawn and the shopkeeper.
You have no obsidian to build yourself in with and because of the fact you built high means there is no escape because they broke the bridge. Your gear is severely broken and you start taking significant damage while desperately trying to get away. But because there is no bridge and building upwards is impossible, it was over. Yet another cheap, unfair loss.
To summarize: Spawnprotection is nothing but a source of the most unfair, bad and cheapest wins for opponents while they clearly had no chance of winning anymore.
Comments I WILL be expecting

Dude. Is it my problem they all got killed and have no chance of winning anymore IF NOT FOR THE PROTECTION?

Even so, is there is a VALID reason it has to be so long? Why? Why does it have to be so damn long?
''Just block yourself in" For the I lost count -th time, it's really, REALLY hard to block yourself in when an entire team is fisting you and standing in your way.
I want to add 1 more thing
There is a minigame on a server I used to play on called "annihalation''. The concept is similar to Eggwars except you have to mine to get & craft resources and the Nexus (The ''egg'' in that game) has Health and you have to mine it 75 times to destroy it. After it's been destroyed you also can't respawn anymore.
However
There is NO spawnprotection in that game and I haven't seen a single team, or a single PERSON cry about them not ''having a chance'' or ''being underpowered''
