Escalated Add More Friends Slots For Java Ranks

Hi guys, this has been suggested in the past but I thought it would be good to bring it up again especially since my idea is a little different from others I have seen in the past.

The idea is simply to increase the amount of friend slots on Cubecraft Java. I personally have had my list full for over 2 years and anytime I want to add someone new I have to find someone to remove which is really hard. I think that if 125 is not enough for me, having 20 for another person is way to little. I propose that all ranks receive additional friend slots as follows:

Stone: 10 -> 15
Iron: 20 -> 40
Lapiz: 30 -> 60
Gold: 40 -> 80
Diamond: 50 -> 100
Emerald: 75 -> 150
Obsidian: 125 -> 250

What do you think? Just enough? Or maybe more? Please let me know what you think in the replies below. (:

I disagree as I think how it is now is actually well stabilized, but that may be because I don't have many friends. :(

Well you may not have many but I know a lot of people is having this issue. And I ask you, if it is well stabilized then why ARE there complaints about the size? In the end, weather or not you need it or not it's still an added bonus for you and for everyone.

You have to see it from another side Cubecraft implemented this a few years ago in these ranks the number of friends slots. They then put a limit based on what the ranks are worth. In my opinion it would be weird if they changed this after 4 years. And let's be honest you probably have inactive people or people you know through discord so is it so necessary to add them to your friends list? Let me know what you think of my opinion

I think some more friend slots for the higher ranks would be great, as some people really want to add more friends with no option to get more as they already have the highest rank. However, doubling the friend slots for all ranks is way too much in my opinion. Maybe something like this:

Iron: stays 20
Lapiz: 30 -> 40
Gold: 40 -> 60
Diamond: 50 -> 90
Emerald: 75 -> 125
Obsidian: 125 -> 250

I think 20 friends for iron is enough. I feel like what you're paying for with iron rank is mainly the basic functions of a rank, like map selection, prefix, colour chat, etc. Allowing iron ranks to get way more friends than stone rank seems like too much. Most people don't need many friend slots, and having a limit is a way to motivate others to upgrade their rank. Just a doubled capacity compared to stone rank (like it is right now) is fine.

Well to be fair the change is actually doubling up the amount so really it's a change but not a change since it could be viewed as the same. They made changes during the early part of COVID so it wouldn't be that strange. Honestly, out of 125, maybe 10 are inactive, and most of them still actually come on often enough where a removal is not warranted. Also, this is not just for me, not everyone can USE discord or other sites. I think you should be able to fill your friends list up and not have to worry about going to an external site to keep track of em.

To be fair, other servers have an even larger amount for less of the cost so I would think the doubling would balance out. I think the incentive is still there, I think more so for other perks then friend slots as this change is mainly to just be QOL rather then a must needed feature. Also I think the slots as it is are to small so just increasing them like this pretty much fixes the issue and everything else remains the same.

Interesting, I actually got another idea: All ranks below obsidian stay the same, while Obsidian+Plus would get pretty much an unlimited number of friends slots, as there's no higher rank than obsidian and it wouldn't eliminate on of the Plus rank's perks for Obsidian rankers. I guess this would add more value to the rank, which doesn't sound bad to me considering the rank costs €150+.

I would consider this however not everyone can afford that very high amount. I think by just buffing it all evenly would balance it out while not changing any value fundamentally. If there were to be something to change the value it should be something larger then friend slots since I wouldn’t want to be buying something so I can have more friends.

I'm just only adding people who are either famous, good friends or people I actively play with and I barely touch 100. A lot of people have indeed complained about the limit and other servers have even higher limits, is it really that much to ask to increase it a bit like suggested? And that may be the case but other people may have more people they play with and also don't have the resources to buy a higher rank. They should still be able to have friend spaces and you shouldn't ever be buying friend spaces. You should be buying the perks like voting and whatnot. I disagree, I think it's necessary.

For reference: A server I play maybe a few times a month, Hypixel, I have, what like 25 pages of friends, which is a lot. Compared to 125 for the max rank on Cube. I mentioned how you shouldn't pay for friend slots but if someone wants to spend $150+ I would expect more friend slots.

Side note, I do wonder why people would vote no though, if you don't need it, it wouldn't affect you, but it would be there if and when you need it. And to those who do indeed need it, it would be very helpful. I can't see any actual problems with this being implemented.

I agree that it would be useful but I don't think it would be necessary. If someone has a full list, There's bound to be inactives or someone that they aren't really friends with. Most players just use that to see who is online and what they are up to. It would just make more sense to me to just unfriend players that either don't play anymore, don't talk to, or just aren't exactly considered friends to make room for newer and players you'll actually talk to and play with.

I'm gonna stay Neutral on this one as it could help with players who don't want to unfriend anyone.

i agree with some of it.
stone 15? perfect. i hate the 10 friends limit so much honestly, and im not willing to pay for a rank, just to have more friends in a server (im way too stingy guys, i cant help being dutch ;w;)
i'd say iron could stay 20 or maybe 25.
since all ranks above iron have a lot of slots, i dont think its a huge need to change these ones. if there's an obsidian rank with over 125 friends, there must be a lot of them they dont talk with. i know some people will start complaining about the value of a rank because of it: just dont please, its just a number in a game made of blocks to be able to play with more people basically. high ranks still have others massive adventages like being able to vote. its honestly easy for a rank to say yes or no as they dont know how much a stone rank struggles with parties and friends.

I honestly don't think the extensions should be added for gold rank and below. Mainly because I don't think it will be fair across versions giving java players extra friend slots.

Gold rank: £29.99
Bedrock Vip 5: £30-40 ish

At the moment vip 5 and Gold have the same amount of friend slots
if you double it to 80 that would be significantly un-fair for bedrock players who's friends are capped at 40 for the highest rank.

if gold rank increases to 80 friends that would mean it would cost on average £0.37 per friend.
and on bedrock at the minimum it would cost £0.75 per friend.

This is a big big difference. On top of that Java players have the option to buy a higher rank giving them a total of 125 friend slots. Bedrock players can't even physically get more than 40 friends no matter how much we spend.

I think by adding more friend slots to Java ranks, Java players will be getting much more of a benefit than Bedrock. In my opinion, if players want more friends, they should buy a higher rank

Sorry if any of this sounds rude in anyway way at all, I just think that spending the same amount of money should entitle you to the same amount of friends.

Definitely don't think stone should get any more slots. Although it has very little I agree, I'm sure it's a factor that has motivated many people to buy their first ranks. - For the others I don't really mind.

If you don’t mind the others why did you vote no?

Also, you’d want someone to spend a lot of money for friends slots when other servers have practically unlimited slots? I don’t think Cube should be selling ranks for friend slots, you should sell them for appealing perks like voting. I understand CubeCraft is a business and needs money but that is the worst thing to motivate people to spend so much. To be fair, I could see this being very unappealing for new players.

By increasing all the same balanced it out so in reality it increased but it’s still the same since it’s just new numbers same ratio etc. Also this is just about bedrock. I didn’t make a bedrock thread because I just didn’t. I’d be happy to make one of you want. But I don’t see how this gives any Java over bedrock advantages. It’s just a change. And to just go by a rank instead of being allowed to have enough friends slots like other servers is silly. If I was emerald I’m not paying $155 for a few extra spaces. At that point what is stopping me from going places where there are no ranks and unlimited friends. Also it’s not rude at all, but you must understand I increased it all the same so you indeed are still getting the same if they all are increased the same. It’s an added benefit for all weather or not you’d use it. By increasing all proportionally it’s almost like nothing changed.





Again, I am still surprised that people are saying no when all that’s being added is a benefit to not only make friend spots less tight but also solve a problem that’s been requested forever by people. I spent like 155+ (prob way more) at the store for obi for only 125. Which didn’t last long. Meanwhile on Hypixel I have 25 friend pages with however many displayed on each page for free. I would think one of the benefits would be a lot more space for friends. Even if you don’t need it, saying it’s not needed because you don’t need it (yet) makes little sense. It’s a free perk that boosts all evenly and it would help a lot of people who are stuck and can’t dish out more and more money for something that’s free on other competitive servers. Sorry if this last part in general is aggressive but I just don’t think Cube should sell space for friends like that. I’ve had my list full for years and I can’t really remove anyone so it’s defiantly frustrating. And when others say it’s not a for them when they have a higher rank that I can’t afford doesn’t help either lol.

Also please do for bedrock max slots 40 and I need to constantly remove friends.
