This is a set of discord suggestions that I thought I would collate.

1 - A Bot
This has been suggested dozens of times before and I'm going to say it again. There should be a bot on the discord server. It doesn't matter too much if it is custom or one from online. If they do use one from online I strongly recommend Dyno. It has an easy user interface and has strong moderation and other utilities. In general though there needs to be a bot that does this:
- Warnings - Messaging people when they are warned, keeping a far better log of them, etc.
- Bans - Keep track of bans far more easily.
- Mute - The abilitiy to mute a user in chat for a specified amount of time
There are a few other things that it would be extremely useful to do which I will bring up later in the thread.

2 - Music Bot
This could either be implemented within a custom discord bot or via a premade one but a music bot would be useful. There would need to be a music specific channel and the bot would be restricted from entering any of the other channels. This could be used for just listening to music, as well as for karaoke events. Anyone who plays songs containing inappropriate language or attempts to troll using the bot will be punished.

3 - Event Coordinators
The event coordinators would be a group of people responsible for running events on the discord server. These events would vary depending on what they are but would likely end up running in a similar style to the community games. There could be game events, karaoke events, etc. The application process could be managed by an event-director which could be an event coordinator or a staff member. Applying would be similar to applying for helper as you would have to fill out a google form with information about the event you would like to run etc. This would then be looked over as well as general behaviour but mostly if the event could/couldn't be run.

4 - Smaller/Private Voice Chats (Suggested by @SnowyWarz)
These would be smaller voice chats for people to go into and play or talk in smaller groups of say 3-5. These would be a first come, first serve thing and there would be around 3 of these channels.

5 - Voice-Text Channel
This is something I have seen on almost every single discord server with voice channels. The purpose of the voice-text channel is for those who do not own a microphone or do not like talking but want to join voice. They can instead just join a voice channel and chat there instead. There is no reason not to have this as it wont clutter anything up and would be useful for those who can not or do not want to talk by voice while in voice channels.

6 - Ping Fixes
Often after doing an @ everyone ping it gets stuck for some people. This is known as a "ghost ping". This is a known bug from discord and so far the only known way of fixing it is to post another, non-ping message into the channel. Multiple people have complained about seeing ghost pings on cube yet they refuse to post ping fixes in the announcement channel. There is literally no reason not to and it is extremely useful. They can be deleted afterwards so as to not clutter the channel.

7 - Roles
Currently the only way to get a role on the server is by becoming a staff member. I suggest that there should be roles for things like region, language, gender etc. This would help people to talk to other people and for people to know how to communicate with other people. These roles could either be done using a command in the bot or by using a reaction role system. Both would require a bot to function.

8 - Rules and FAQ Revamp
Currently the rules and the FAQ on the server are extremely vague. Compared to the rules and FAQ threads on the forums there is very little detail and lots of information missing. There should be a channel for the rules as well as a general FAQ channel with information on all the commonly asked things in the discord server. There should then finally be a channel with a huge list of threads for things like guides and FAQ threads. This would likely reduce the number of people asking commonly asked questions in chat.

9 - Topic Channels
There should be a category containing channels that all focus on a specific topic. These could be cubecraft related topics, such as discussing suggestions or threads, or just general topics, such as animals or STEM topics. Any off-topic discussion would be redirected to another channel but as long as you keep remotely related to the topic you can discuss it there.

10 - Minecraft and Discord Account Linking
This has also been suggested dozens of times but there should be a way to use the bot to link your minecraft account to your discord account. This would give you a role depending on the rank you have which could be coloured. This would also let other people see your username to invite you to parties as well as being able to create a bio which includes other information.

11 - Activity Roles (ty @Lexply)
These would be roles that would be given along with activity. The more active you are, the higher rank you get. This lets you get higher up on the member list, global emotes etc. These could also be given by staff discretion.

Thanks for reading this far through if you did. Please give me some feedback below as I will have made some mistakes in places and there will be flaws with all of them.

And it's also highly costumizable. :]
2 - Music Bot
I mean, according to Q, they require some type of license... Plus music ain't all that important tbh, moderation bots are far more important for now.
3 - Event Coordinators
Ooo! Yes! It'd make the server more alive... If that's not already too late.
6 - Ping Fixes

Firstly, no you dont need a license to listen to music on discord bots lol Rythm is literally on over 3 million servers and no one has ever gotten into any trouble.
Secondly, yes ofc that totally how it works.

I agree with most of them.. but language snd gender roles are meh. We need roles for people that chat alot, maybe like level up roles or something or just chosen by staff
I knew I would forget about something and that was it lol. Added it in to the thread ty for the reminder

If these things matter to someone they can change their username, for example Tomas (UK) or Tomas (EN) or Tomas (male).

I find that people are currently able to communicate easily without having a factfile on the people they message.

If someone’s speaking in German and you want to communicate with them, then you can assume German is their preferred tongue.

If you want to know where someone lives you can ask them - not knowing this information from the start isn’t an issue.

What if someone speaks multiple languages? Where’s the limit to the number of roles someone can give themselves? How many roles will have to be made to cover all users’ languages? The same goes for gender and region potentially.

Firstly, users can't change nicknames, only staff members can. This means that every time someone wants a nickname change they have to ask staff which takes time and there are sometimes not even any staff members on. With a role system they can just change it whenever.

Secondly, I think the main thing you are saying here is that this stuff isn't completely necessary and I agree. I'm not saying that this is needed but I'm just saying it is more convienient. It wouldn't get in the way as all the roles would be colourless and would not change position on the user list. It wouldn't be getting in anyone's way and it would just generally be useful to just look at someone's roles and see what language they speak etc.

Thirdly, there would probably need to be roles for the main languages spoken. If someone speaks an extremely uncommon language then there can just be an "Other language" role. Same applies to all other role types. Users can give themselves as many roles as they want as there isn't a role limit per person. There is a role limit per server which is 250 but I doubt they would have to worry about that. I'm on dozens of servers that don't have an issue with the number of roles whatsoever.

Gonna bump this for the last time as I've gotten no staff feedback so far.

I don’t agree with giving people roles, even activity roles. Every other idea is an excellent suggestion.

Disagree with the last. It useless and doesn't really matter if you have a role or not, it would encourage spamming and pointless conversations just to receive a rank. But it could be nice if staff chose them, doe it wouldn't really have any perk so

And that's wrong. It wouldn't. Coming from someone that's in a ton of servers with roles for people that reach level 50+, or whatever, 90% of the time, people would not spam for the role. And the ones that do, will give up very soon. Very soon. You're literally repeating the most mindless arguments that staff are saying for not making roles. Please make better arguments. All the arguments against anything for anything new to the discord server are completely false. It's just how discord actually work.

And if you really hate the idea of giving active people a role, make roles for ranks and give some permissions to the ranks: give the ability to use nitro emojis for diamond+, etc etc.

I'm begging you. Make something about the discord server, after 97,000 messages, it's getting too boring and simple.

How can you proof that people would not spam? How can you proof that people would not start pointless conversations? You just cant, it's just better to prevent it in case people actually do it. Also, are the statistical come up? For the in game ranks linked with discord, I agree. Hypixel's discord server do have it so.

And how can you prove it? You can't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's just better to try it out.

I feel like you never joined any big discord servers, lol. Besides Cube. Go to one, be active in it, be involved with the community. It's common sense. If you really do make pointless conversations just for a few online levels and messages for a role, you'll give up about half way there. It would get TOO boring.

How to prove people won't spam for the role: go play a game you hate and keep playing it until you reach 1,000 wins. You won't. You'll hate your life for the first few hours and then give up.

It's the same here. Forcing yourself to speak / talk will slowly make you hate yourself and you'll never reach the goal.

Imagine if people were to start spamming. Would they not get called annoying anyway? The backlash they will get and the drama people will start with them is gonna make them quit anyway.

Now let's say, you're right. For the sake of the argument: Not too many people will be spamming for this 'role', and if anyone would do it, there's still a no xp role that comes with MEE6, which can be given to anyone that starts talking and spamming just to gain XP.

ok can we just stop being idiots thx

I know this has to do anything about it but, if staff actually gives the rank to active people I dont mind, but it shouldn't be given for having an x quantity of messages

Actually, (if done with a bot) giving the role for x amount of messages will require a massive database and will be impossible (I might get shouted at for the amount of times I asked to have a bot to give you a role for x amount of messages, but I recently learned this >.<)

Which is why MEE6 gives XP after every message after 1 minute (it's a really simple code, even I could write a little code to give you stuff every minute <-- it just takes 2-3 lines for the every minute thing)

I also would not mind if Staff gave it to random people, I'm in a server where staff do "/trust" players for a special role, it just gives you a few tiny things, but it still is a thing and staff don't get harassed or spammed to get the role. (Also a role to add, is to ban people from getting the role if they ask for it) -- and yeah that's pretty much it.

anyways yea have fun with your day and sorry if I seemed a bit rude, I just woke up an hour ago lul
