Especially if you're a girl.
No sexism or anything, but girls are more vulnerable than men.
This is not a sexist comment, but I am just stating that if you're a "cute" girl and a male is attracted to you, they'll try to get your IP then find you since they already know what you look like.
I've never heard of a girl stalking someone after getting their IP.
But it DOES go for men too.

So don't make your profile picture a picture of your face, it's irrelevant and can be dangerous.

This is a minecraft forum. Most people here are under 18 and lives all around the world (mostly Spain and the Nederlands)... How would people of our age be able to travel internationally just to stalk someone?

I don't see any danger in showing your face. Even if someone would decide to stalk someone, how would they get the ip?

Woops, oh no, we're all going to die now.

Just saying, it is very weird for you to say that you can get someone's IP from their face - which you cannot (thankfully).

Please tell me when you find a very cute or ""sexy"" girl on a Minecraft forum that isn't a catfisher. Thanks. (Apart from @zRinne bc she's pretty. ;p)

Never said you can.
I said that if you get their IP you can easily stalk them AND you know what they look like.
Stalk them? lol. Stalk them from their face? Sure, just need to find their location now, that narrows it down to the whole of Earth.

Well, in regards of tracking and stalking, I think posting a picture of yourself here involves less risk than posting it on any other social network such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. However, just revealing your gender in gaming communities involves more harassment than in any other context acording to a lot of studies.

My answer to your question is no, because I don't think we need to scare people and make them hide their faces or identities. What we need to do is to create more safe spaces for them. Lets make this and every community on the Internet safe for women and LGBT people, and lets teach people to be afraid of harassing others.
