I think this is a bit of a silly idea but.. I think emerald generators should unlock items for your team, then you cant buy them with iron, diamonds, gold etc. but this would only be used during hardcore.

Like protection one on your current gear for a certain amount of emeralds?
For the permanent upgrades, I don't know how expensive it'll be but speed 2 might be a little but too OP if it's easy to get, I still like the ideas tho!

It would be Nice that you can make team upgrades, like for 10 emerald for whole the game and whole your team sharpness I, protection, efficiency, ...
This idea isnt so orginal, because mc-central ( server that steals Some stuff from others, like the map Paris of cubecraft) has this idea also.

I also like that there come an elytra for emeralds.

I would like to get a random potion if you trade with the vilger for example the one time you get strengt and the others time you get speedI would also like it if the times are disappointing his example you are likely to get 2 minutes speed and the others turn 5 minutes

I really wish people would stop it with the original stuff already. If the server needs it, add it. Who cares if another server has the same thing. It's like parties. Pretty much all servers have a party system (or similar). Cubecraft was hurting by being 'original' and not having one. (Now we have one and it's great.) So if the community wants team upgrades, add them.

I think the permanent potion effects is a cool idea. I'm just curious how you are going to balance it. For example, if someone gets haste and strength, along with full iron and a diamond sword/axe. They would be a killing machine. So I think it should cap at 1 (speed 1, haste 1, etc..)
I also think the random items would be cool. Especially if random like @HangarGeek suggested.

Just one last thing, please do not add emeralds to every map. Keep it map specific, it's better that way.

I personally think a few things, Emeralds should generate a bit faster and stay at one level. There really is no point upgrading the Emerald generator when others can benefit or you already have enough to get your desired items.
Set the generator on one level and maybe produce one every 3ish seconds.

I love the idea of map themed items that can be bought by emeralds, but some aren't worth it. I remember one game on the solo map Tropical, it was overpowered and the pickaxe was the same as one I could buy with 5 gold. It wasn't worth it. I think it'll be worthwhile to change the items that can be bought with Emeralds depending on the mode.

I like the idea of being in a range to generate the Emerald, I really do. To me it doesn't seem to fit in with other generators, you just run in and pick up 5-10 of the token every few seconds. Not sure what could be done about that.

I hate the idea of temporary potion effects. You never know what might happen, whether it being shot off, the enemy not being there, or finding that the enemy is way stronger and wasting your buff. I like permanent potion effects. You could go into a battle and tell your team, "Blue team has strength buffs, watch out." It's would all in all bring a lot more awareness into the game.

I really like how the staff are trying to improve our gameplay and raise satisfaction in Eggwars.
I voted for number 2, but I think number 1 is a good one too, Its just very overpowered for a normal game.
Clearly, none of you have ever faced a mid camper eggwars. They'll go up exponentially with those ideas.

Thing is, to prevent mid camping it needs to be available for gold or iron. I also want to be available exclusively for mid camping prevention , but it doesn't have to be. You can only use levitation along the very edges of mid and their home island, so invisibility might be a better choice now that I think about it. Do you agree?
I'm okay with that.

This is our opinions and campers are not something that is not allowed in game and they do make games more interesting in my opinion, and yes i have dealt with many mid game campers before.
A mid game camper is completely different from a mid camper. A mid camper won't let you get out of your island.

Time to go on a rant. In my honest opinion, emerald generators should be removed entirely, or have an ender pearl only use (or just from hardcore and normal mode, I don't really care about OP). Let me explain why: @KronosReeper @Gainfullterror

They're already rewarded. Mid camping is a completely broken strategy as it is. WHY would you want to ENCOURAGE people to do this? Let me explain one game I was in:

I was playing a game of Aztec, normal mode normal health. I was on red team and after building to mid, I went straight to yellow. I went straight toward the egg and easily killed all six members of the team. I then cut across mid and went for green. I easily took the egg, but this team was much harder to kill. I still managed to kill four of them, but the last two killed me. When I went back to my island, guess what! Three blue people were standing at the end of our bridge! Now understand, our bridge to mid was completely intact and more than half of it was guarded, meaning we couldn't get knocked off by bows. We started to continue the walls toward middle. We didn't run into too many problems until the final 10 blocks - this didn't take any more than 5 minutes to accomplish. But by the end, it was impossible to cover those last 10 blocks. Understand, these three guys had power AND punch bows, meaning we never knew what to expect when crossing the bridge. By the way, going out is not an option because you'll need 12 to 15 stacks of blocks to do that kind of bridge on Aztec. Plus, if people go out that splits the team - giving the mid campers a chance to attack while we're vulnerable. So, we had to figure out a way to cross the bridge - it was the only option. You want to know how? 25 minutes later, those two people over at green came over and attacked them. Yes, just 10 blocks and we had to wait almost half an hour. By the way, those people had no skill - I took all three of them out without taking any damage. After that, I then had to go through three more people - who this entire time have been collecting from mid as the other three guarded us. These people were stacked AF and I had no shot against them, even though I was WAY better at PvP than them.

And by the way, we had no diamond gen active. So don't even try to say we could've fought them back with bows.


Nope, this won't do one damn thing to stop them. If anything, it will just make campers even more prominent. People that want to defend their egg will do anything to defend it. They won't go to mid just to gain a slight gear advantage. The ONLY thing this will do is discourage good people from rushing any more than their next door neighbor - extending games way longer than they should be and creating campers that are literally unbeatable as they can collect diamonds with stat boosts at the same time. I'm used to fighting 4 v 1s WITH gear disadvantages. Now imagine a team at my skill level, camping the diamonds / emeralds, with gear advantages. Would you want to ever deal with that? And trust me, people like @iConfueZ and @Phids are much better than I am - just imagine THAT.

And seriously, what is the problem with just adding ender pearls already? It would do exactly what you asked - preventing campers and giving rewards for holding mid WITHOUT adding an endless supply of skilled mid campers. Sure, it might take way a few rushers but that would have at worst 50/50 opinions and it would make eggwars much more enjoyable.


My take on adding Enderpearls:

Enderpearls are something which grant easy access to Enemy bases. This means that you'd not have to safe-bridge every time you want to assault a team. Most of the time bridgers are spotted, meaning there would be a huge bow duel between two teams. But if Enderpearls are added, there's a door open for new strategies. Campers could be killed easily, simply throw a Enderpearl to their island.

A way to defend against E-Pearl attacks would be to make a huge Trump wall, so they'll simply hit the wall and fall into the void. But more professionals know to counter this by simply using TNT cannons.

Enderpearls could also be used to escape combat, so the thing I suggest on doing is a Enderpearl penalty. Once we use a Enderpearl we cannot use it again for 1 minute. This could help to kill people before they try to Enderpearl to the next island.

Another thing I would like to have if Enderpearls are added, make the void death persisting, instead of instant death after falling ~50 blocks. So if we Enderpearled back to the island, we would still have a chance to fight, but most of the time with the low health we would die from E-Pearl damage. Anyways it would be helpful to be lucky once in a while (If you had no clue, just see how Lucky Island's deaths in the void are. It slowly kills us like Vanilla Minecraft, instead of instant death after reaching a trigger block)

My take on Removing Emerald Generators:
I don't think they will ever be added to every map. If it is added, they'd have to nerf/buff/balance every single map, and it'll alter gameplay and strategies forever.
On the current maps (With Emerald Generators), however they are easy to be balanced. And there's no doubt that every new map in EggWars would feature a Emerald Generator.
I will wait and see what the update brings and later I would suggest ways to nerf/balance them.

We believe that we should have them in some maps though to add some diversity in the gameplay. In some maps, it's just better to not have them at all however, there are a few maps which might be cool to have an emerald generator on.

I can see your point in terms of mid camping but since emerald generators aren't going to be added to every map, there are quite a few maps where there aren't emerald generators available. However, we do want to include some sort of perks with emerald generators to add diversity with gameplay and that's why we're asking for feedback on what we could include.

This is the list of ideas that I’ve gathered and tweaked so that we can have the best for everyone, as well as trying to solve peoples issues that they have encountered during games.
  1. Team upgrades (Permanent potion effects) - This was the most voted option in our poll, with more than 50% of people voting for it. These upgrades will be able to be purchased for emeralds that you can obtain from emerald generators. You would have to take the emeralds from the middle back to your island, and buy these upgrades from a specific shop.
    This is one of those things that yes, will increase campers at middle, however you have to look at the game objectively; The objective is to defend your egg, not hold middle. Most games, you’ll be able to sneak to their egg if they’re defending middle and get them while they’re unaware of this. (Also stuff discussed later should help prevent them :D)
    Note: These upgrades are most likely not going to be as powerful as potion effects. From my understanding Strength 1 grants a 130% damage increase, this is way too powerful, with these upgrades we would only grant maybe a 40% damage increase as not to make your team totally un-killable.
  2. Enders pearls for diamonds - Oh wow, have I seen a lot of requests for Ender pearls in normal mode. After discussing this with other staff, we’ve decided that a good starting price for Ender pearls in normal mode is 64 diamonds. You may be thinking that “But you can get diamonds on your own island” but we believe you should be able to get Ender pearls on your own island. Ender pearls should help players who have been cornered onto their own island to attack adjacent islands/middle, and further progress the game.
  3. Increasing the price of the punch bow - We’ve also come to the conclusion that the punch bow in some cases can be a little annoying. After talking with the staff, with the addition of Ender pearls and things, it’ll only have limited use. We don’t want it to be one of those things that’s bought out early on in the game. We discussed upping the price up to 25 diamonds, as to delay the existence of the bow in the game.
Anyway, I hope you’ve had time to read through this and decide if you like the sound of these changes. I would also like to clarify this, we are NOT going to suddenly add Emerald generators too all maps, they’ll remain on the maps that they are currently on, but will not appear on any more maps, unless we get high demand for more of them. The current uses of Emerald generators we also plan to remove to make way for the new features. Please leave your feedback below, even if you agree with everything please reply below, as I want to just see how many people agree/disagree. Can you please tell us what kind of potions would be added?
I would suggest adding Speed, Jump boost, and Haste. Regeneration is too OP, and if added the AoE should stop when we exit our island.

I would love it, if there is a Enderpearl delay, when you have used a Enderpearl which successfully hits a block(Sometimes a Enderpearl would miss, and fall eternally into the void), it should give a delay, approximately a minute. This would help while chasing a enemy, who is hopping from island to island with Enderpearls.

Limited use is a great idea. The price seems resonable. In OverPowered, I would make it 20, since it really is pretty high.

The specifics of what exact potions we'll be adding haven't fully been decided yet, however we'll ensure that they're not going to mean you dominate the game. As I mentioned in the post, I'd say stuff like strength may be added, however we'll nerf it so that it doesn't grant you a 130% damage boost. If you have any suggestions for what we should add, feel free to let me know. If you also want tiers of upgrades, feel free to suggest ideas for that too :eek:

Here's the problem: Some of these effects just wouldn't work. There's also no way to fight mid campers with Ender pearls. Most of the time when you fight mid campers you're stuck without a diamond gen. Therefore, we need something with gold that can fight mid campers effectively. I'd personally recommend adding a 1 minute invisiblity potion so we can try to sneak our way over a bridge - or stack them to try to build a wider bridge across. Just make sure the name tags aren't visible.

Also, thank you for finally adding Ender pearls to normal mode. Now to discuss the potion thingies and more stuff about mid camping:

Potions really have more negatives than positives. Let me explain:

Let's cover speed first. Speed may not seem too bad, if it weren't for one thing. You actually move faster without jumping if you have speed than with jumping. This doesn't seem too bad, but it becomes problematic quickly. Chasing people down would be a NIGHTMARE as they're moving faster than you AND they're losing less hunger. Therefore, speed can't really be added to hardcore or normal mode because restocking on food would be a constant thing.

Now for jump boost. Jump boost is extremely annoying, especially on hardcore mode, so I don't really see anyone buying this. It's good for temporary use but having it permanently actually does more harm than good because it slows you down when running.

Now for haste. Obviously no problem with this one - just make sure it's mining haste exclusively.

And now for strength. Well, I'll continue that once I leave school...
