With help from @yoyamin 's knowledge of voxel sniper and world edit , we created the map "Crystals";

  • Changed glass panes in the sky to stained glass blocks to reduce lag.
  • Added a floor of floating rocks and small crystals to make the map more mystical.
  • Added outer islands with large crystals to add a border to the map
  • Changed the middle crystal to a large crystal
  • Made the map less "messy"

I checked and haven't found any map idea like it on the server, the eggwars map.
This is a 2 player map, with 16 players total each with their own island.
I decided to make it 2 player as it's the most common groupe and the existing 2-player maps where missing a few elements that I integrated into this map.
On many 2-player maps it's easier to get rushed, the islands are more spaced out on this map, though this one does force the teams to battle it out to get the gold gen. If one team is monopolizing the gold gen the other team has the option to go to mid, a risky path but one that also leads to the diamonds, to take out the team monopolizing the gold or go take the gold gen on the other side.
There are so many outcomes for this setup that hasn't yet been introduced, this map has been built with gameplay in mind, including the bow spammers, the endless fights in a trapped obby room, the best stratergy depends on what your opponents choose to do... up to you to come up with the best stratergy whether your forte is with the bow, or the sword !

normal island:
2 iron generators: level 2 and one broken.
1 diamond generator: broken.

Intermediate island:
1 gold generator: level 2.

middle island:
2 diamond generators: level 2 and level 3.
2 gold generators: level 2 and level 3.

The lack of a gold gen on the spawn island makes the game more interresting, even more as the intermediate islands that have the gold gen each share two spawn islands.
Camping requires arrows, but the gold is off the spawn island, so if you are to camp you would need to defend two islands.
The layout of the map calls for a strategic gameplay, more than a rush mid then camp type of gameplay.

Hehe, not sending screenshots :p enjoy the agony of waiting until the map comes out, I'll post the screenshot and a map download in 3 months, end of December 2016 if the map is denied before then.



The map is 100% complete but I'm still open to suggestions that may make the map better.

It is a bit difficult to see because the pictures are so dark.
Can you post some pictures where it's day please?
But from now it looks really nice! :)
Maybe add a little cave in the middle with little crystals in it?

If you look closely there are already two caves at mid with crystals in it.
I'll post screenshots later (as I have uni to attend), one for each cave, and one daytime pic.

I like this a lot, however it lacks a lot of things imo. Too simple. As a guy who uses VoxelSniper a lot, it looks to me like a spam of /b line. A thing you could do is make a giant crystal in the middle. Just my two cents, its a good map though! :)

A lot of the crystals where hand made, you can't do gradients with voxel sniper (as far as I know)
