This is a pretty good, detailed guide! There are a couple things I disagree with though:
Moneybags is a good kit, but Eggcracker is probably the most useful - It can allow you to succesfully defend your egg if an intruder has snuck in and has encased themselves in sandstone in order to dig up the obsidian. Just dig up the sandstone around the enemy, hit them a few times and let your geared up teammates do the rest.
You can also use it to spleef a geared up enemy from a bridge, a handy ability if you have just respawned as your base is under seige.
Finally, a gold pickaxe is WAAAY more effective than a stone or iron pickaxe at digging up obsidian which makes it a good rush pick to use in the early to middle stages of the game.
Sure you can buy a stone pickaxe as soon as you spawn, but that takes precious seconds and isn't as effecient as a gold one.
This works a treat for most teams and bases, but can I also add that it helps to take a spare 7 or 8 blocks of obsidian with you? This is just in case the enemy team has enough time to spawn, punch the sandstone that is hiding you (or buy a pick real quick), dig you out and keep spam hitting you until you die. Some maps have the egg really close to where you spawn, which is hard to combat. That's where the obsidian comes into play, just encase yourself in that next to the egg and you are sure to break the enemy egg undisturbed ^-^
