Good afternoon!☀️

My name is Romello, 20 years old and I've been playing CubeCraft for about 6 years now.
Since about 2 months ago, me and a friend of mine decided to try our best to become a Helper on this server, as we would like to support the server to the best of our ability.

Even though I understand a lot of the things a player has to meet to become a helper, I still have some questions.
This isn't a criticism of the server, but I'm mainly curious about what you guys think about this, and this rule is the way it is.

The rule I have a question about.

  • 50 successful website reports

For a very long time I have no desire at all to grow into Helper.
This actually only started a month or two ago.
I do have some reports, but these are reports that have been collected for about 2 years, and these are (on the forum) 13 players.

In my case, I can say that I meet all requirements except for the required activities on Discord, forum and the reports.
And I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
I do my best to report rule breakers, but I think CubeCraft is missing out on good moderators and helpers because of the reports.

There are also players who don't pay attention to, for example, players who curse and in that way don't care and just play their game.
If those exemplary players then want to join the helper team, they have a long way to go because of the expected reports.

I would like to join the team in the future, but I find it annoying that I have to constantly watch the chat for this, that I generally don't really do, I usually just play my game and someone has to do something really really weird, for me to notice it directly in chat.

Again this was definitely not an attack to the server. It is still my favorite place to relax and play a game with my friends.

    A possibly good idea

Is it perhaps an idea that every starting helper is linked to a "buddy"
The newcomer has 2 weeks to prove that he/she is good enough as a Helper before the newcomer joins the team.
I understand that the 50 reports is a possible activity filter, but this way you filter out the 'bad apples'.

But maybe you already do this?
I'm curious what you think about this, and if I might be completely wrong about this?
    let me know! 👋

I sincerely do not support your idea. Because people who want to be Staff show interest in the server and do everything they can to become a Helper.

The required amount of reports shows us that you have knowledge about our rules. 50 successful reports usually means that there have been multiple punishment tracks reported, so it’s a good indicator that you have some decent knowledge about our rules.

The helper trial is partially very focused on knowing our rules and distinguishing things that are allowed vs not allowed on our server. This is why the required amount likely will not drop any further, unless we change the trial.

I can understand your reasoning.

In the current way you do have active and driven people and players who do indeed have knowledge of the server.
I'm just going to keep going, and hope I can help as staff in the future.

Thanks for the explanation. I hope you understand that I didn't mean this as an attack. :)

You literally just described the Helper phase. Helpers get assigned helper mentors and they have to undergo helper training where they have to report consistently. Why would there be a need to have a trial for a trial lol

To the suggestion itself, I also disagree. 50 reports is very very easy, and that's just the minimum requirement. It's not an instant accept after you meet the minimum requirements.

In fact, none of the requirements are an obstacle in your way to helper; it's the amount of time it takes to get integrated within the community. I promise you, successful helpers will know that they will almost certainly be a helper when they apply, because they have been a great part of the community and have become a known face.

On top of this, it also shows dedication.

Cubecraft isnt missing out "good moderators" because of the report. They are missing out players without interest and players who are not familiar with the rules.

Imagine that there is a helper who doesnt know the rules because they only have 20 reports, thats weird because they wont report or ban any rulebreaker

In my opinion the report requirements is one of the most important ones, its shows the member is engaged, dedicated and has a good understanding of all of the rules. If you dislike watching the chats, being a helper may not be the best option as I'm sure helpers have to do this. I also don't think 50 reports is that many, if someone is dedicated it can easily be achieved in a month or two.

If you don’t want to make 50 reports because you don’t want to watch the chat all the time you shouldn’t think of applying for this.
can you make a how to become helper guide pls

:confusedcat:"some decent knowledge"

in my opinion 50 reports are too less. You can easily find rule breakers and that's the problem on Cube,
That's why I decided to try to report any rule that was broken. :D

Edit: I started reporting one year ago!

Short answer: If you feel like you do not have to get 50 reports or just don't want to do it don't apply for helper, that number is set to make sure you know the rules and show your dedication to the server

I apologize.

I totally agree with you guys, and understand that I was wrong about this.

I would think twice before posting something like this.
Thanks for all the messages!
