Web Idea - New Forum Features

The forums aren't boring, but they could use some sprucing up. Here is some of my ideas!

New Reactions

- all forums - positive - for something that is cool
- limited time halloween reaction - positive - for something spooky
️ - limited time christmas reaction - positive - for something festive
- all forums - positive - for something goofy and silly

These will only be accessible to members with over 100 reaction score.

Pin Comments
Add an option to pin a comment, sending it to the top. This is useful if a comment has more information or is nearly essential to make the initial post make sense. Only the OP can do this, and they can only do it to one comment.

Easter Eggs
Such as certain pages raining cats, a web game you can play if you search up 'hippo man', etc.

More Trophies

Mixed Bag - 5 Points - Get 1 of every reaction
Undercover - 10 Points - Change your profile picture 3 times, with at least 1 week in between
Poll It! - 15 Points - Participate on over 25 polls
April Fools - 25 Points - Get over 20 silly reactions in April
Sure! - 15 Points - Get over 100 Agree reactions
Arcade - 20 Points - Participate in 10 different forum games

New Reactions

The reactions are already clogged up. Imagine how it would look on mobile when there would be this ridiculous amount of reactions available. I think it would very easily get confusing, especially for newer members.

Pin Comments

Pretty sure this is not a thing that can be implemented due to the limitations of Xenforo 2, but who knows. That aside, comments currently are sorted by time. Usually the first couple posts already add enough to the original post so much that more doesn't need to be discussed or people will keep repeating the same things. There's really no point.

Now, if it were about pinning a post on profiles, I would agree with you. Threads however? Totally unnecessary. OP can simply link to a comment they find to be relevant using a URL and putting it in the original post if they deem it genuinely necessary.

Easter Eggs

This definitely goes beyond the limitations of Xenforo. Doubt it would be possible to do so at all. If you want easter egg sites, just google some for minigames...

More Trophies

I would personally love to see some more trophies - also suggested a few myself some time ago - but some of your suggestions would be incredibly hard to track.

Get over 20 silly reactions in April

What is a 'silly reaction'? Who's going to track it? Manually or the site itself? Who's going to code that and pay the developers? What money? I can go on xd.

Meh... - 15 Points - Get over 100 Maybe reactions

This would encourage people to post lesser quality content simply to obtain the unsure reactions. A trophy for getting X amount of agrees would make that much more sense.

Again a hard thing to track, and not sure if it's even possible within Xenforo.

In my opinion, there's just better things that the developers should spend their time implementing. I'm all for new forum stuff, but you have to keep in mind that for every single thing people suggest, the team has to assess: "Is it a good idea?" "Do we have the resources for implementing it?" "Is this absolutely necessary?"
