I think he means that it would be better if the random tower spots (he calls them "nodes") got struck by lightning, with or without towers, then replicate the same map spot in the enemy team layout to make it more "fair". And that would cause lightning to be more "random", but also less frustrating to play against (just because you'd not have to spam archers - waste time and coins - on your whole lane to prevent destruction of your major towers). That would cause lightning to work like this: A lightning strikes a completely random wood plank (tower block) on the lane and this is what happens:
#1 If lightning strikes a plank without any tower part on it, nothing happens (or to make things harder, it could cause the plank to become a different block, unable to build on... Tbh when I think about it, it'd be a great Hardcore Mode feature).
#2 If lightning strikes a plank with any tower pieces, that tower gets demolished as it does now.
