This update only shows how out of touch the admins are with the Java community. Here's my personal thoughts on the new features:
Eggwars:
This game was fine as it was. The eggwars community is what Cubecraft thrived on, I don't get why they decided to revamp the whole game, while it was arguably the most balanced and all rounded game on the server. The new shop is super unbalanced. It's possible to get a bow within the first minute of the game, which really makes it impossible for any new players to get into (which I think was the reason for this update in the first place right?).
Skywars:
I personally don't dislike the new map or anything, it's something different. It's not really a competitive map or anything, but that's fine in my opinion. The crossbow feels a bit too OP as it is currently. It's very easy to catch people off-guard while they're bridging for example. It also does a ton of damage against opponents in leather or chainmail, combine this with the ability to preload 2-3 crossbows at once and it can swing a fight in just a second. The most broken new feature is the shield though. The shield was fine as it was, the delay for putting it up was absolutely needed to make it work. Currently you can instantly put your shield up after hitting, making you pretty much unhittable in a fight. You could be up against a much better opponent, if you have a shield and they don't, you have a huge edge in the 1v1.
FFA:
Well, there's the new kit. I like the concept, but it's poorly executed. It's barely got any armour, you can 3 hit it with wizard kit. The trident takes ages to get back after you throw it, and the lack of enchantments makes it useless in melee combat, as it matches the DPS of an unenchanted diamond sword. We had this same problem with the berserker kit when it came out, didn't we learn at all? The new prices for gapples are a bit odd... It doesn't make sense to make them more expensive, they were already pretty niche due to their high price, I doubt we'll see anyone use them at all right now. It's harder to earn points in FFA than in other games, so people prefer not to waste them on consumables. Lastly, the fact that you need iron rank to select a map is disgusting. Switching maps is about as essential as left-clicking in FFA. This change will only result in more stone ranks quitting the game as they can't escape any opponents that they're getting focused by. Bye bye new players trying out the server. The new map is cool, no complaints there, would've liked to see a new elytra map tho, or even the reintroduction of Space or Flowers.
Parkour:
Does anyone play this? Why is it treated better than all the other games?
In conclusion: at the very least revert eggwars to what it was. Give stone ranks the right to change maps in FFA. That's the bare minimum to enjoy the server for me and a lot of people.
