Java Remove duel timer when using custom kit

Ok, this thread is talking about the duel timer, of 5 minutes. In a normal duel, when you are with a random person, the timer is fine, and it doesn't need to change. However, when your in a duel with /duel and using a custom kit, the timer is very annoying.

For example, I have a custom OP eggwars kit, which consists of a sharp 5 diamond sword, two sets of iron armor, a pickax, 32 steak, 16 gaps, a pickax, and some blocks. This is a pretty standard loadout of mid/late game eggwars. However, eggwars duels with such gear (also bear in mind that eggwars is usually half health, but in duels its always normal) fights can take 5-10 minutes.

Evidence - C4RT once uploaded a video of himself 1v1ing xMqx. He told me it was planned, and that they wanted to do a 1v1. Because of the duel timer, they weren't able to do it in duels. They had go into an eggwars game, kill everyone else, then get the same gear, and then do the 1v1. It would be so much easier to remove the duel timer. It would take like 5 minutes to make the kit, and they wouldn't have to worry about killing everyone else, or being killed in a game of eggwars.

Edit: This idea was suggested to me by @TheZigbot9000 so props to him.
His idea was to be adjustable, so you decide how long to set the timer for.

I personally don't use custom kits that much but when I do it has been pretty annoying when the timer gets in the way and you just want to fool around with friends or create a kit that will probably make a duel last a long time.

I like the idea but I think it'd be better if it was something you could toggle when creating a kit.

Sure. Some kits dont need more then 5 minutes anyways, so on those kits, players could just leave the timer the way it is.

I disagree duels should be fast and not long like in that video and 5 minutes is plenty of time anyway just have shorter fights i think

This applies to custom kits, as a lot of custom kits take longer then 5 minutes, so its impossible to "have shorter fights"

And why is it you disagree with literally everything I say?

thats what i mean that you should just make the kit take less time so then it will fit in 5 minutes if that makes sense

I do duels to practice eggwars. There are no op eggwars kits, so i made a custom kit, to make it feel as much like eggwars as possibile. Duels with op normal eggwars tend to take longer then 5 mins, so the duels timer is really annoying, and as u can see, should be removed or become toggleable for custom kit duels.

That would also be a good solution, but it would probably still take longer then 5 minutes, so the timer should still be removed.

meh it just encourages people to want long fights in other games then which would make them long and boring
just stick to quick duels xd more fun

No, not more fun. There’s nothing wrong with wanting longer fights. Removing the timer would allow those players who like such fights to enjoy their kits in custom duels. Just because you personally dont do long fights in duels doesnt mean that other players dont. Also, theres no avoiding long fights in op eggwars, unless you bowspam. Practicing your endurence and concentration for these long fights in duels would be invaluable in duels, thus why the timer needs to be removed.

Nice idea! Sometimes I've had that people kept talking to me. Kinda frustrating, also with the idea that you can create kits is kinda fun. For example, the fight between C4RT and xMqx (Stuttr), it was a long fight. Longer than 10 minutes straight. So, your idea is removing the time in Duels which I agree, but due of the kits, often they last less than a minute. But with selfmade super overpowered kit it can easily take longer than 5 minutes so maybe making it selectable to turn the time for longer or just off might be an idea. Actually, your idea is removing the time, I agree!
