Hi there! Not one of my usual big threads, but definitely an important one.
I'm here to talk about the recent rule change of rule 3.14, which makes 'bumping' threads against the rules. I know why this decision is made, and I understand it completely, but it also brings a big, big problem with it.
Bumping threads was a great way to get those last agrees on your thread to reach the 25 agrees. Without bumping, only an exception will get that 25 agree-mark, which is quite high with the total amount of members online at the same time. Even the suggestions that reach 25 agrees without bumping it are heavily advertised in CubeCraft discord itself or in external communities.
I'd like to suggest something that makes it a bit easier to get threads forwarded. Options I think of:
- add the like reactions up to the agree reactions to get to 25. This way people who 'liked' the thread also agree with it, making it a bit easier to get 25 agrees. On the other side, this doesn't resolve the problem of the too little members that react to the post.
- lower the requirements to 20 agrees or even 15. Needing less people to get the communities voice heard could be necessary as there are so little members to respond to the thread. On the other side, staff will get busier as more suggestions are forwarded.
- make the 'recent thread list' on the right side of the screen (laptop) longer. Less necessity to bump, since more threads are shown. On the other side, not everyone will check the top 10 threads, where they will check the top 5 threads.
EDIT: - Revert the rule change. It wasn't necessary to change it, so why did we change it?
- Some other solution I cannot come up with. Please let me know in the comments if you know a brilliant solution!
It is necessary to respond with or to keep CubeCraft's community heard. Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear it! Kind regards
