To start with, it is just a concept.

There aren't many threads made in another language than English. But then I see an interesting title that I want to read, it is very disappointing when it's made in another language.

Suggestion: allow users to send threads like this in staff-help and let translators translate them.

Translators are staff, so it should be a problem. You can request them in staff-help like this for example:

Name: ---
Link: ---
Language: ---

A big no-go for me. I don't see a reason why someone would want their threads to be translated? If they wanted it in another language, they could've just posted it in that specific language. And that besides the fact that it's completely useless and just a waste of time, and I don't think translators are willing to translate all non-official threads that probably won't even attract that many people.

What I do think that will be a cool idea is that all the threads made in the news sub-forum will be translated. As they attract way more attention and people from all different countries whom speak all different languages, and may not perfectly understand English.

Sorry if I missed something, these are just my thoughts on it. I hope you can understand it :)

Doesn't matter. Maybe someone isn't able to speak English.
Google translate
doesn't work that well.

It literally is very easy.
I don't find translating as something "very easy" (if you wanna do it right ofc).
This is just something really useless and requires a lot of work from Translators, who I'm sure don't want to translate some random threads that are not gonna get as much attention as, for example, Helpdesk articles or official threads, just like @Finixly said.

Then they can use google translate or something like that. Translators don't have to spend their time translating simple suggestions or other threads just because there are people who may not be perfect at English. Sorry, but it just doesn't make any sense to translate every thread so everyone who can't speak English (there won't be much) can understand it.

Also, they originally applied for translator to translate some actual serious threads/in-game strings to help the server grow and make the server enjoyable for everyone, they didn't apply to translate random suggestions that probably won't even affect much. I'm also sure there will be lots of trolls that will just be asking translators to translate their threads in order to waste their time.

It literally is very easy.
As Gregeyy said, it requires quite a lot of time and effort to properly translate a whole thread. It really isn't that easy to translate a whole thread.

its not about easy, its about whether its worth it. finding a balance between effort and usefulness (if thats a word).

spending time translating ingame strings which thousands of players will see? yes, that's worth every second translators put into it.

spending time translating a thread only a handful of the community will see? no, i dont think that's very important.

I think another layer of work included is that if someone isn't exactly fluent in English and needs the thread translated, then whatever their opinion may be, their responses won't likely be in English either. It just means there's a lot of going back and forth for a translator, even if they're really competent with translating. I mean, if a translator is willing enough to translate threads on their own time, go for it. But I just don't see this as a necessity, especially one that players can make a request for.

Bump, such a good suggestion can't be lost. Let those Translators translate everything we say #powertothepeople
