Im still on 1.9.4 so you're wrong about that - emeralds = more mid campers aka this is a big no no no and people that want 1.8 want 1.8 not half 1.8 half 1.12. And you can't skip versions in a Minecraft server so don't even try to say that we can do both.

They're severely outgearing you - I fight 4 v 1s UNDERGEARED and you think THEY'D care about their egg? No chance!

Not to mention, mid campers aren't trying to keep you out of mid - they're trying to prevent you from going anywhere. Mid campers are at least 10 times harder to deal with than base campers.

I dont think youre a developer. If someone can play on 1.10 they can play on 1.12 as well. These past updates have not been controversial whatsoever.

Trust me I know enough to tell you that an item that exists in a different state of Minecraft cannot be shown in a state of Minecraft other than 1 that has it

CubeCraft uses compatibility servers for 1.9+. CubeCraft uses 1.9 as the standard version. Ever seen a Magma block? In CubeCraft? That's why.

I know that. Im saying that they should add an exclusive up to date version of eggwars itself. 3 versions :1.8 , 1.9-11 , up to date.

I would like to know why they can't update to 1.12 as well. Maybe they designed their games in a way that makes it some work to update, but I don't see how it could be impossible.
In my opinion they should allow 1.9-1.12 clients to connect to the lobbies, but then have the actual games run on spigot 1.12 and show 1.9-1.11 players a warning that they need to update. For me the mild inconvenience of editing the profile to the newest version would be worth having tons of bug fixes and new possible features.

Um one person doesn't make a difference. You could also just as easily act as a mid camper - as a general statement mid campers are MUCH harder than base campers.

Instead of adding it to Eggwars, you could also add it to Skywars. Maybe as a kit.
