The reason for players getting a one month ban at first is so that those who will actually learn a lesson will stop hacking. I know many people who have hacked in the past and are sorry for those mistakes. After their one month ban, they would have learnt their lesson and stopped breaking the rules, if not, then they get permanently banned as you could see that they haven't learnt their lessons and they decide to continue to hack.. Maybe they have abusive parents or friends who decide to go on their account and hack on it? Maybe it is just a lonely eight year old who doesn't have any friends and just wants to win but doesn't understand that it is unfair for others? Here are some conversations of players who apologise for hacking which I believe would learn their lesson from their and not hack next time they are on the server. (Names scratched out for obvious reasons)
I do understand and respect your point, and you convinced me with it.
The anti-cheat is still currently in the making and many players have seen it starting to work. The anti-cheat is still being developed though, and it has started to kick players which it believes to be hacking. Of course, it has kicked many players who lag, break obsidian with pickaxes which aren't diamond (etc.) but we do know that it is being worked on, and (hopefully) soon it will be released.
If it works, then it's doing a bad job, as swarm of hackers are available in Team Skywars. They have every kind of hack you can imagine, from anti-knockback, to even flying. I honestly never noticed the anti-cheat system kicking players for hacking, nor have I been kicked falsely for whatever reason. I do look forward for it as well, but I was hoping it gets released before 1.8, or the same time as 1.8, to prevent hackers from playing in the server and getting away with their hacks.
Where are your statistics? All these threads show that players who weren't staff members or weren't players who significantly benefitted the server in any way wanted 1.8 PvP back.

I can list about 100 more threads which were made by regular players which have the same topic of "Bring back 1.8!".
True, people wanted and requested it. But when did 1.8 come back? When the amount of players on the server dropped significantly. You probably noticed it yourself. CCG was mainly Dutch and Spanish players back then. As soon as the server went on 1.9, I would say 90% of the Spanish players left. If Staff accepted the fact that we all wanted 1.8 back, they would have worked on it straight away after seeing such threads you just linked. However, it was released again after months the server was upgraded to 1.9.

@DutchLemur . Staff have a life to live as well. If you want to apply you can, but would you rather Cubecraft has around 200 'ok' moderators or 50 of the best? (This is a rhetorical question so don't bother answering.)
@Mac is currently already accepting applicants who do an amazing job, and once helpers who are working hard at the moment get promoted to moderator, then they as well, will be able to help with reports which have been in-answered.
Applying for staff was literally allowed a year and a month or 2 ago. How many Mods were promoted ever since? At least 10, right? (I'm pretty sure it's much more) Have those 10 Mods fulfilled their duties as they promised in their applications? (Some of them have) I'm confident if every Staff Member promoted did as they promised in their applications, no one would be reporting unanswered reports. The problem is, Newly recruited staff are excited about their jobs for a certain period of time, doing all the reports and whatever they are required to do, but they slowly lose amusement and find it boring to do those reports, which is why they eventually stop. Again, I do understand everyone has their own personal life, and can be busy at times. But if you think you won't be able to spend a lot of time serving the server, then I don't think you should apply. Oh well, "On average, how many hours are you online per day? " is mentioned while applying for Helper, but people either lie answering that question or they're accepted although they say they don't play a lot (I don't support the second option.)
Again, evidence? Most of the recent suggestions made have been implemented such as /fr which was suggested by
@YounB on a thread.
I think I mentioned the evidence :p However here is the link for you to check:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/team-sw-hulk-kit.43211/
The kit was removed roughly 3 to 4 months after I made that thread, which I don't believe it was removed for my sake, but some Staff tried it and thought it was a powerful kit. Also notice the number of Staff I tagged in the thread, how many of them did actually reply back? This thread is also supposed to be a suggestion, let's see how many Admins reply to this, or take my words into consideration. That's what I mean by Staff not taking suggestions: they do see the suggestions people make, but they don't bother replying on them. They don't even open the chance for a discussion.
1) Builders work on maps. Developers don't. Why are you comparing work that builders do to the work that developers do? That just doesn't make sense. If more and more maps are being released, then you should thank the builders for making those maps as developers do little to nothing to get the maps released. They are busy working on updates such as the new anti-cheat and freebuild.
2) Freebuild is the priority, and voila,
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/freebuild.159507/
The project of fixing Freebuild only started a couple of months ago, but it was put into maintenance when it shouldn't have. Don't blame the staff team for that as Cubecraft got more developers to help work on Freebuild once Cubecraft merged with the chunk.
I'm talking about Server updates, not Builders updates. If you see a bug, you're gonna report it to the whole Staff team, not to specifically the Developers. Also, if you notice a specific gamemode lacks maps or has very few, you're also gonna report it to the whole Staff team, not to the Builders, as they all are part of the Staff team.
I get your point, but replacing your 'spot' for somebody else doesn't work. Everyone has a chance to become staff, and if you think you're the best, apply. I work 5 days a week and I'm online if I can. Doing reports isn't an easy thing to do. I'm replying to your message now, because there's no way I can do reports as I'm in train right now. You have to be at home if you want to do reports, that's why there are staff online, but most of them can't do reports as they are checking the Forums at work etc.
You're just helping me prove my point. If you don't have time for the server, you shouldn't really apply in the first place. The server has been looking for Mods for a year now, and surprisingly some of them didn't stick to the promises they made in their applications. What's available now are Staff whom most of them said they will do their best to help run the community, and mentioning they're pretty active as well, when they are the lateral.
Again, I don't mean all Staff do this, but some of them actually do. I'm not offending you personally or asking you to resign, either.
Why not? They're just taking their time and I don't see how demoting staff that have a social life will make the server better.
One can both have a personal life and time online. Demoting staff who have a social life doesn't make the server better, but it allows more serious players to join the staff team, which in this case, helps make the server better.
