dont care anymore, wouldn't care if cubecraft added their own version of "player housing" that could fill up by a bunch of 12 year olds wanting to do a "HIGHSCHOOL ROLEPLAY".

People are still stuck up with the update when they dont realize there is nothing they can do about it. Cubecraft is doomed, not something to cry over.

damn, I kinda feel bad for you. Since it seems like that you have not bought the ranks recently, the chances of you getting refunded is slim to none. I do not buy any ranks because its usually only for one multiplayer minecraft server and it does not offer a lot of features for its price. For example, minecraft currently costs $30 and it offers so many things, such as creative mode, multiplayer, many many kinds of blocks, mobs, items, minecraft realms, and so much more. In comparison, gold rank on java costs around $34 dollars and it allows you to use chat prefix, colored names, vote certain things in certain gamemodes, have more friend slots, select maps, and a few niche things? That is a joke for $34, when an entire game costs less and offers 1000x more things. Seems like many people realized that ranks are a scam on java and stopped buying them, which could partially explain why cubecraft can't afford to keep the java servers up and running. They should have at least cut the prices in half and start offering a lot more things, and maybe java's situation would not be as bad as it already is.
That's exactly the reason why I only bought the iron rank and I never got an expensive paid rank. If prices were lower, then I would have probably bought obsidian or emerald.

And now with more maps and gamemodes removed, its essentially the same as stone rank.

You do realize that the Update to 1.19 is a huge win for both the players and cubecraft, right?
You just hope everything goes right and that this will work, sadly, the experience tells us this kind of things never work. Story says the big change saved the network, and this is true. But there is a huge difference between both updates. The big change didn't remove any game entirely, it just simplified the network to introduce the less popular games into the featured games system and remove the dead game lobbies to don't give the sensation of the network being dead when opening the tab.

This is different, it's literally killing half of the network games and it's leaving us with no maps. Also, they have stated Java won't be receiving any updates in the following 4 months. They may not be the best admins, but they are great at making excuses to justify non-sense decisions, just be minimally realistic, this isn't gonna work.

I also find it quite harsh that there is no announcement in game or on the discord. All lobby 1 right now is stone ranks saying: "Where's this? Where's that?"

When you make such horrific decisions, at least communicate it clearly. Great job.
That's also pathetic, they can create a discord announcement full of colour, emotes, good vibes and cool designs in just a few minutes to announce a new and great and much more expensive vip system on bedrock and all that stuff. I don't say this is bad, if it was my enterprise I would like to make as much money as possible. But when they have to give bad news, those announcements never come.
They say this update is great, and that they have the data to prove so because the big change was a success, well, if it will save the java network, you will want everyone to know this so your players can stop worrying about the current status of the network. But this update was announced days ago, no announcement, the update happened a few hours ago, no announcement again. Yeah it's definitely a master plan...

These are off-peak hours, so it is quite expected for the player count to be pretty low during this time. (During peak hours, the server tends to get around 1.5K players) + update hasn't happened yet.
playercount.PNG

Taken at 11:27am est, this is around the time java starts to peak. As you said, the average player count peak is 1.5k players. If you do some simple math, the server lost nearly a quarter of its playerbase.

Almost yes. You are now paying almost 170 euros for the following: Ability to use the map selector, unlock additional slots for Skyblock, vote for stuff in skywars, eggwars, lucky islands and ffa. Well, here is the part where the pain comes: The map selector is useless, there are only 6 maps for each gamemode, which means only almost 1 will be open at a time, so yes a great perk. Additional slots for skyblock, it's always nice to have additional slots but it isn't getting updated. The ability to vote for stuff, this is probably the only feature that will actually work. You may say, you get more stuff, yes. The weekly rewards, more friend slots (yeah most of them left), more party slots (most team modes are gone), flying in lobbies, access to /report (good luck finding and hacker and getting your report checked before it gets automatically closed), access to the /colour command and the prefix.

TL:DR you are paying 170 euros to be able to vote for stuff in 4 games, some cubelets, and the ability to fly in lobbies.

We've just went from summer vacations back into school, as well as Sunday into Monday.

It is quite impossible to see the results of these changes this quickly, it is quite reckless to try and make conclusions at this time.

We also anticipate losing players, as I've said- this is to prevent further decline, there will be initial leaves but the remaining games will start at all hours and should stabilize the future player count.

Hey CubeCrafters!

Nearly 10 years ago CubeCraft was created by @rubik_cube_man , this birth occurred on the original version of Minecraft, Java Edition. We've been a Java server for most of our history, we pioneered all of our current Bedrock games on this version. Today we sit here with a huge platform which has held over 25 games loved by tens of millions of players all over the world.

I was one of these millions of players, joining in 2014 to pass time whilst I was in school, it ended up being more fun than I could've imagined and now I've been here for 8 years and now operate internally with the rest of the team working on making those same experiences for other players.

Working at CubeCraft has been super fun, I love spending months on updates and then watching all of you experience it and talk about it. Those release days are always my favourite even if they are a bit stressful! One of the things I've learned from being on the CubeCraft Team is that sometimes tough decisions need to be made.

Even as a loving dedicated community member I am faced with one reality, our Java platform is struggling. It cannot support itself with 1,000 players, especially with its current structure which was intended for way more.

I don't want to be a big Godzilla and ruin everything for all of you, I came onto the CubeCraft team to make things better no matter what, sometimes this can only be achieved by taking risks.

At this time, Java needs to grow beyond 1,000 players or we will need to close it. This is sad news but rather than come to you today to tell you we are closing Java, we are here instead to unveil some of our big plans to deliver amazing experiences to even more players, to inspire them like I was way back in 2014.

So what is happening exactly?

šŸŖ„ Update to 1.19

We will be fully updating CubeCraft Java & Bedrock to Minecraft 1.19. āœØ

Starting from today, our team will be focussed on bringing a huge 1.19 update to Java & Bedrock, featuring all new content, as such we will not be making any changes to the network for approximately 4 months until this is completed.

It will be all hands on-deck for this exciting new chapter, we cannot wait to welcome you all (and frogs View attachment 214671) into the new CubeCraft era with all the amazing content that comes with it.

āš™ļø Java Changes

One of the issues we've currently addressed from our player reduction is a lack of games starting in many periods of the day. We have decided to remove these games & modes in order to keep the network going until we can relaunch our amazing update in a few months.

As of September 5th, Java will only consist of the following library of games:
  • Solo SkyWars
  • Solo Lucky Islands
  • Teams of 4 EggWars
  • Free for All
  • Skyblock
  • Parkour

View attachment 214670

In addition to these changes we will also be reducing Lucky Islands, SkyWars & EggWars to 6 maps each.

These changes are in preparation for our 1.19 update on the horizon, which will have much more polished maps featuring many new mechanics from all the versions we've missed. We've made this change early to avoid confusing players on release.

Our new 1.19 maps will have more map-only features for example; a swamp map with mangrove trees & boats at mid. A nether map in the nether dimension with blazes at mid that drop items or striders that take you to generators above lava. The possibilities are endless!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What maps are staying?

A:
Solo Lucky Islands:
  • Pirates
  • Luck
  • Village
  • Underwater
  • Candy
  • Nest
  • Blizzard
  • Bloom
  • Trees
  • Shrine
  • Explosive
  • Ping Pong
Team EggWars:
  • Mushroom
  • Olympus
  • Palace
  • Ruins
  • Beach
  • Fairytale

Q: Is there any chance for these modes to be added back again?

A: Absolutely. We are currently in a position where we need to grow our network, additional content can return once we're certain they can start in all times again and that they are still fun!

Q: Why can't you just put them in featured games and keep this system?

A: Featured Games as a concept was intended to have players squeeze together into small timeframes so that the games could start properly and wouldn't need to be removed. We are at a point where even featured games cannot be supported, it's also a difficult system to maintain. We'd like to focus our efforts on the remaining popular games and new exciting content to grow the network.

Q: Are the removed Java-only games going to be on Bedrock?

A: They could in the future, we currently have no plans for those specific games however we'd like to try everything in our Bedrock 'Beta Games' at some point to see how they perform on that platform.

Q: If you aren't doing updates for 4 months, is Halloween cancelled?

A: Due to the fact that seasonal updates don't require much development resources and that we had most of it completed already. We've decided to release Halloween as normal in October!

We all remember the excitement of enjoying CubeCraft for the first time, the buzz of meeting new friends and having new experiences. I'm very excited to get Java back to this point so we can provide amazing experiences through the Java platform once again like we did all those years ago.

That's everything we have for you today, thank you so much for reading!
You know they messed up so bad when the community were sad and mad at the same time

sometimes you have to take one step back to take two forward. There will always be people who're mad and sad with a step back.
Personally I don't think removing games the community loved and played for years would be a "necessary move" for the future of the game. Like I get it, it was meant to make the staff's team work easier and all but just think about it, does ruining your own server would somehow benefits your own server?

It sure benefits the staff team but at what cost? Losing your playerbase? The server's already declining and yet they chose to make it worse by removing most of the beloved games.

I sure hope some of them would make a return in the future and I just couldn't help but feel sad for the Java community and all of the memories from all these years on CubeCraft. It's like seeing your childhood game ruined in front of your eyes, let alone with all of those stuff happening behind the scenes with lies and excuses. The server is going to die soon and they're only making it worse.

Yes I understand, updating to 1.19 is a positive move for the CC devs but I just find it unnecessary for them to remove most maps and games.

Did the bare minimum to ensure they would still be able to sell ranks.

The store didn't change until the very last moment, not even after the already insane late announcement for this.. nope waited until the very last moment, to get the last bit of money out of the unaware suckers.

The removal of maps is a decision even with less sense if that's possible. Can anyone tell me how will you make those new players stay on the server if literally playing any game gets repetitive?

I am a developer in my free time and know how much new stuff there is to 1.19 apart from what the average player sees. 1.19 enables Cubecraft to make awesome new content for all their games, especially the casual ones. It really wouldnt make sense for them to drop pretty much all their games in favour of purely PVP games (What im trying to say here is that your favourite games arent lost forever). Cubecraft is (hopefully (please admins dont mess this up)) ready for takeoff but it can't when the players aren't supportive and optimistic about it.

It's impossible to be optimistic when they removed games that were actually pretty popular like tower defence or minerware. I wouldn't have cared if they removed blockwars because anyone used to play it on Java. If you want games to start faster there are many ways to do so, but destroying your network isn't an option.

ya'll ruined ya selves. Egg wars is now come to half of the game filled with VIP members who dominate each game in 10 seconds flat..... With half of the maps gone you only have so many games to fill and the ratio is now this. Big reflection of your gamer base and who ya'll choose to support. Been nice on here but I'm out.
