Title says it all. Better hitboxes, hit detection, blockhitting, better animations and more. Not saying 1.8 pvp is better (Even though I think it is).

1.8 is aiming and fast clicking and block hitting pretty much the saim the big diffrent in 1.9 is that there is no block hitting. and shields just dont work mid combat
First its not just spam clicking. You have to aim, strafe, combo, rod/snowball, potions timing if your in potpvp, and more. You lose a lot of that in 1.9 such as combos, rods, and potion timing because theres virtually no potpvpers in 1.9 anyway. 1.9 is very slow paced, which dont get me wrong, fits some peoples play style, but a fast paced play style makes it much more enjoyable for most people. Also let me bring up competitive pvp. Theres almost 0 "Competitive" pvpers compared to 1.7/1.8. No one grinds elo when potpvp and uhc fights are lasting up to 10 minutes in 1.9. Mojang doesnt give a cow poop about 1.7 pvpers as almost all of them hated to 1.9 update. Shields are broken even most 1.9ers think so.Also there are way more pvp mods for 1.8. I can think of atleast 20 1.8 pvp mods off my head but no 1.9 pvp mods.
Bottom line, 1.8 isnt all about spamclicking. Theres a lot more to it than you think. 1.9 has basically created a split community and mojang only cares about making newer versions to have people mod and get more people on there game.
Be able to join PVP in 1.8.

Pretty sure that's a client side issue so you should compare it to the 1.12.2 client.
no.. the hit detection really got fixed now you can make sweeeet combo's you can just hold people in the air for 10 seconds
+1 I'm sure there are players on 1.8 who want it but won't join the 1.9 network bc of the combat, regardless of whether it has 1.8 or 1.9 combat.
There are players who hate 1.9 combat beyone belief and want to be able to play PvP on Cube, but won't join PvP on the 1.9 network despite 1.8 combat just bc the version number required to join is that of a version in which vanilla combat is 1.9.

Well firstly 1.8 has the worst hit detection and it is just spamming - no skill required. Also You can do some pvp. You go to the PVP lobby and boom! 1.8 PVP. Stop complaning that you cant do your spamming there are designated servers on PVP for your no skill spam.

At this point, this is making me mad. There is something that is called pot pvp in 1.8 too and it's not just spamming. Try it out, unless your really hate 1.8. And the 1.8 classic mode version on pvp sucks. If one more person mentions spamming, I'm actually gonna be pissed off

Yes skill required. Bc of the higher pace (more clicks) of 1.8 strafing is harder. Also jitterclicking does take skill bc the more cps you have, the more likely you are to be able to hit the opponent as soon as the invincibility wears off. The two require massively different skillsets, neither one requiring more than the other. What was said about 1.8 being entirely gear based I can prove wrong as I have been beat in 1.8 PvP by someone with worse gear than me.

In 1.9, it's about timing hits. If you miss a hit and the other person hits you, the chances are different, or if you hit to early you do less damage. This opens up the chances of winning a battle for someone with less armor or a worse sword, because it's now about timing your hits, as where with 1.8 every hit did damage no matter the time in between, so someone with better armor wouldn't need to do as much to kill someone with worse gear.
Please explain 'pot pvp'.
I honestly didn't know people this dumb existed. We can duel in 1.8 and I will let you use an auto clicker set to 30 clicks per second. You won't win. I'm serious, my discord is CryOnThatL #0833, the pvp in the 1.9 lobby is not 1.8, far from it, the hit reg is trash, everything feels so clumsy since it's 1.9. if you log onto any 1.8- server with a 1.9+ client they don't just simply reduce the cool down.
